Anaheim, California (January 16, 2003) - Access Music unveiled Operating System 5.5 for the Virus C Series synthesizers, along with OS 4.8 for the discontinued Virus B Series and OS 2.1 for the Virus rack classic.

SYNC XTREME is Access’ new adaptive LTB (Linear Time Base) synchronization algorithm. The internal clock resolution has been improved dramatically and the Virus locks to an incoming MIDI clock up to 400% faster. Every single sound parameter including the modulation- and delay-effects can smoothly follow dynamic tempo changes. Sync Xtreme is available for Virus C Series OS 5.5 only

STORE TO FLASH was one of the most frequent user request for a long time. It enables you to overwrite the existing 768 factory ROM presets with their own sounds and is available for the Virus B and C Series.
To make your decision which patches to be burned into the ROM section even harder three new 128 patch soundsets have been released. Ben Crosland's Elektrovision set consists of mostly elektro/lounge and ambient patches. Especially optimised for the Virus C Series the new set contains Kraftwerk style arpeggiators, loads of elektro percussion/FX patches, "New Romantic" inspired lead sounds and warm ambient beds. Christian Lang took a more house and electronica oriented approach creating his 128 patch contributions where as Juho Lepisto's set is a nice mix of different styles.

COPY FX is a versatile copy function which copies the delay and reverb setting from a single patch to a multimode patch and is available for the Virus C series and the Virus rack classic.

SOUNDDIVER VIRUS: A new version of SoundDiver Virus has been released as well. The latest update fixes an incompatibility in between very old Virus A sounddiver libraries and the Virus C series.
