Volume goes down when playing song in Logic

Hi there folks

I've got some trouble during playback a song in Logic and use of the virus.
This is what happends:

When i play my virus without playback the song the volume is ok but when i hit the play button and then play my virus the volume is very low.

My setup is macbook pro with Logic 9, mac os Leopard. Virus hooked up thru usb(direct no hub), M audio interface so not using the Virus soundcard.

Hope somebody has a answer for me.

Does the level meter of the Virus drop when you press play or does it stay the same & the sound of the Virus get drowned out by all the other sounds playing?
