WHAT DO THE LIVE MODE BUTTON@VIRUS TI PLUGIN???

i think its like hitting low latency in logic or protools so there is less delay when tracking
-
Allows lower Virus Control latency specifically in Ableton Live, FL Studio and Sonar, as well as Digital Performer 5, i think.
-
Is there a certain time to use the button. Does it use more cpu power. Because it is an option it would seem there is a time when you would not want to use it as well.
-
It makes a really nice panic button for those times when the Virus likes to send random, low-note MIDI KEY ON signals

this is a quote from the Virus TI addendum:
"
Live Mode Button
The Live Mode button lowers Virus Control’s latency in order to ease recording live events in hosts such as Ableton Live, FL Studio and Sonar, as well as Digital Performer (which is not officially supported).
The reduced latency also improves the way MIDI is recorded in certain hosts which shift MIDI events for delay compensated plug-ins.
The drawback of Live Mode is that MIDI events will not be sample accurate while it is enabled.
Also, depending on your setup and the quality of the USB connection, artefacts such as clicks and pops might be introduced. Therefore we recommend enabling Live Mode only during recording and disabling it while mixing and arranging.

ah, finally an explanation on what it does. Strange enough in cubase it helps for me to enable live mode to make the arpegio's of my 3 parts play tight. Otherwise tthey just start too soon and wobble about.

i've just copied the explanation from the existing documentation. are you using the analogue outs for your arpeggios?

no, I use all USB (vst3 version, 32bits, cubase studio 5.1.1)

low latency people wtf maby u should rethink ur carreer
if u don't know what the live button does ....sell your virus
just my advice -

Hi Marc!!
Ahhh!!! I am resurrected the dead..
Just curious, you had asked the fellow whether or not he was using the analogue outs, and he's using USB. I just wanted to know why when using the analogue outs the timing is not as nice as through the USB. I am sending the clock out, but there is 'wobble' when recording that way, not a just just preceding the internal bounce.
Anyway, just curious
