Final Countdown sounds: intro,pad,brass

  • hi all guys

well, i'm trying to reproduce the analog sounds of this famouse song. I have just make a first try with the brass, i will upload soon the patch and also an audio demo, so you can hear and see what i have done

Now i want to go ahead with pad
Well, is sawtooth a good choise for both the oscillators? or better another wave? A low pass filter or a low pass distortion with the high cut? some suggestions about the filter envelope?
At the begin of the song also there is a modulation, as like a brass pad go together with the initial pad...what's your opinion?

thanks in advance for any help !!

  • ok, here the links for the audio file and patch:

the pad in the audio file is just a preset. For the brass, i have made 2 layer (2 patch) to get more armonics. But the sound is not power like the real one. Any comment or suggestion will be very appreciate! :P

p.s: i can't uderstand how to make a new empty bank in personal libraries where i can store my sounds....someone could explain me?

    thank you!

  • ...why not having a look on the Korg Legacy Digital Edition...?

Wavestation and M1 have some really good stuff for these signature sounds.

On an actual PC you get also a lot more polyphony out of these emulations than you can dream of with the HW and there are pretty close - not to mention these offer features exceeding the vintage originals . like filter resonance...

Besides: Covering these songs well (or brilliant) is more important than having the perfect sound for it... Sorry, I've heard too many bad covers using fairly well sounds.
