Why does the TI snow only have 4 parts?

  • So much voices and only 4 parts?
    That´s lower when older models(access virus C 16 parts with 32 voices)

With a little trick you can get out more than 4 sounds.

try this at your own risk :P

Take a sound(better no unisono long release etc. but an arpeggiator on) and press audition. Now take a second sound. As you can hear the first sound doesn´t stop.
When press audition again. Both sound are sounding. This so on......Where are more than 4 soundz you will hear at same time so i think It´s possible.

The next thing are midikeyboards.Newer models got drumpads which ar cool for placing effectsoundz. And the Snow is an effectmonster i think, and a performance synth which work greatly with another keys like m audio axium49 or akai mpk or cakewalk a- 300 till a- 800

so my question.A half Ti but a quarter of parts. ?(

  • tahst why the snow is cheaper, if it had 16 it would run out of voices ..........thats the difference when you buy the fulll TI.........just make a sound then bounce it, and you can have as many as you like

How do you know how many voices you are using per part?50 Voices are very much.Much more than other VA´s.Blofeld 25 voices(16parts) nordlead 20(4 parts)
Bouncing at life playing is not so good;)
If you use the grains and formant you can also run out with a full TI.

8 parts will be a good deal!for a half TI

    by the way:

The White Keyboard(5 Oktan) looks great!!!!

  • These voice counts are max values. A "voice" in the virus is more a unit for processing need than a granted voice as a note.
There are few patches that just use one "voice" per note. Have a look on the "complexity indicator". If you see 5 bars there a note takes 5 "voices".
Then there is unison... don't forget the effects...
50 notes on a snow are theory, like 80 voices on a TI1 or 100 on a TI2. Take a nice horror trip with the min values without unison: 10 voices on a snow, 16 on a TI, 20 on a TI2. Still lust for some unison?... maybe you see now why there are just 4 parts in a snow.
Ok, lay back again - all synth manufacturers do the same cheating with high polyphony numbers on paper - Blofeld, Radias,... read between the lines and you'll find it everywhere.
