I am thinking of getting a Access Virus TI 61 key keyboard. I am getting mine used.I see the differences with the Logo in the keyboard. Is the newer version better?

As you have noticed, the difference is mainly in the decor. It could be that the A/D or D/A converters are different, but if you're using USB and/or S/PDIF, it doesn't really matter. TI1 will run all TI OS-s and patches. Its the same engine.
Hasn't the TI2 more horsepower than the TI1, i.e it can handle more complex patches/more voices?

The 25% increase in voices comes from a SW optimization. If you update a TI1 to OS4.x (IIRC) it will have the increase as well.
The TI2 has 2 DSP chips, IIRC the TI has 1
The Snow is the one with the single DSP, the TI1 has the same Freescale chips (or at least from the same family).

Any standard 1/4" balanced should work, the signal is +4db studio standard.
Contrary to "class compliant" USB MIDI devices, the Virus has its own non-standard driver, which turns it into one of your computer's soundcards. You can send and receive MIDI and audio data, to and from the synth engine, and send and receive MIDI and audio data, to and from the various ports on the back panel. The said driver also gives you the TI capability, which means that when you start Virus Control in your DAW, it takes over the synth engine communication, and presents it to your DAW as a VSTi (or AU, or RTAS).
Please note, though, that since the Virus is a USB1.1 device, it really matters to which port you connect it, for USB1.1 to USB2 translation purposes, so do read the documentation carefully.
Was there also a first version of the TI Desktop. I saw the TI Desktop 2 which looks different? I am guessing firmware can be updated the same way,

Are you pretty sure about this? So nowadays TI=TI2 talking about everything but little cosmetic differences?
That's what I was told by the salesperson when I first inquired about the TI2, but so many people saying otherwise got me questioning. So, OK, here's what's inside the TI1:

So now I'll investigate further to see what's inside the TI2, if any of you TI2 owners have opened your's it would make it a lot easier for me...
