how to use sysex pre sets in a midi file

  • Hi i am new :)

how to use sysex pre sets in midi format like the Howard Scarr Allstars Set 2012 wich can be downloadet on the offical access website.
i use the sequencer mode with pro tools 8.
i made new midi track with the sysex pre set and delete all sysex command unless the sysex i want to use.
the midi track has one sysex command now.
routing the midi track into the aux with the virus OS4 Plug In.

nothing changed with the sysex dump.
Help please, how can use sysex commands with a midi file.

  • If you use VC, then it should take care of everything for you - just save the new .mid patch bank under the access patches folder (can be found somewhere in your personal user folder), load up VC and you can browse this and other banks using the plugin's browser. If you insist on working 'old school' via MIDI, then what people usually do, is work in single mode, set Rx mode to edit buffer, and start transmitting the file as is in a slow tempo (make sure the DAW/sequencer does not filter sysex). The patches have a little bit of space between them so you can pause the .mid file after each one and test the sound. More on this in the manual.
