ive got hold of an fc7 to try, but it doesnt seem to work in the mod matrix? its seems to work in the HOLD input, but nothing else? whats the "control" input listed as in the matrix?
thanks

excellent cheers
hmm yes id like more info before i buy something. Like i was saying- id like to use it to possibly control the likes of filter cutoff, or anything i assign it to. So not just a volume pedal. Ive seem maudio have a usb pedal but again not sure how that would work considering the virus and its usb conflicts
does the virus have an input for a foot pedal controller, if so what type would you recommend. Im not after an on/off type one, more one i can use with the filter etc
thanks
on the arp page change where it says pattern, to user (i think)
sounds good. the signal route is something i need to learn more about i think, especially where and how the two saturation parts work. Any tips would be handy.
cheers
good point
is it possible to route one filter to the distortion while the other by passes it? So i can have a cleaner bass layer (low pass) and distort only the tops (high pass)? Seems when all runs through the distortion it loses weight?
heres the taster for possibly dnb LP of the year with the sounds (bass/mids) im liking http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NC03Vm-REw
basically i get the idea of resampling, what im struggling with is creating initial "thick" patches to filter the bejezus out of.
if i start with detuned hypersaws etc and add distortion and effect i find the sound is a bit "thin"
So im basically after any tips on how you go about doing this?
cheers
yes envelope loop points would be nice!
thanks I'll try that out, been hearing something similar in alot of pop/dubstep type tunes lately
are there any patches you could recommend? Or hows the best way to make them?
cheers
thanks for the answers, but im only talking about the LFO timing, not FM on the actual oscillators.
ive recorded in information using the mod wheel (mod wheel to cutoff), it works fine, but then stops reading after 5-10 minutes. Then i need to reboot the virus synth. It seems to do this sporadically? Any-one have this and able to fix it?
its an lfo, if you imagine an S (to represent the sine shape) with the bottom half of the S would be half the size of the top half, meaning it would oscilate at twice the speed.
on teh emu theres a nice sine lfo shape that is one cycle and the second cycle is twice as fast as the first then back to one etc... Is there a way to achieve this in the virus?
cheers
surely theres a way to modulate oscilator pitch by semi tones or octaves with out guessing?!
Just need help with applying pitch envelopes. Seems the only way to do this is in the mod matrix, but the values are in % instead of semi tones, what value % is a semitone?
would also be nice to have a dedictaed pitch envelope
bound to be an obvious answer...cheers
i doubt those optiv basses are massive basses. theyre more than likely resampled. But you should still be able to create something fairly similar on the virus.
agree, love this sound, especially that knocking type bass
any ideas?
my set up was working fine till the weekend when crackling started on a patch i made using VC. I think i'll join the cue for a fix
