    Hi everybody (again :) )

Today I have a question regarding the input sensitivity and boost of the Virus (Edit Config 1/2), for example when I want to Atomize an mp3 coming from my mp3player (iPhone).

I tried different settings, I get it really loud, but is there any recommended setting for audio sources of different kinds?

I can choose from +16dBV (not loud) to -16dBV (loud!) + the boost, which really works as an overdrive of some kind.

Should I just look at what arrives in my audiointerface? Or can I "break" something within the Virus when I use too much amplification?

    Another question:

In Input 2/2 where I can choose the characteristics, does phono really mean phono? So could I directly hook up a turntable without a phono-preamp (if I find a way to "ground" it, don't know the english term for that)?

If so, would I have to use "linear" as a setting when I use a phono preamp? :)

    Thank you :)

    Hi everyone,

I have some questions about the S/PDIF connection, as I have never used them before.

I'm thinking about using the S/PDIF instead of Output1 L/R (when I'm not using USB for audio transfer in Ableton Live with VC) which would be connected to my RME Fireface, as I'm running out of analog inputs on my FF ;)

The first question is, does the S/PDIF out (1 cable) carry the L/R signal of only one output? Or as it is digital, can it carry more, say, 3 outputs of the Virus?

Second, do I need to connect a 2nd S/PDIF cable comming from my Fireface, if I'm not running audio into the Virus (for Atomizer or other effects) and when the internal clock is used? Or do I always need to connect a S/PDIF cable from my Fireface to the Virus, when I'm using the digital connection from the Virus to my FF?

Third: Will it sound "better" when I use S/PDIF? I use Vovox Link Direct cables. The Fireface has superior DA/AD converters, but will the switch from analog connection (Virus-->RME) to digital make a difference that a normal person can hear?

Thanks and have a nice weekend,
    Hendrik

ehm yeah wait i will get my camera.. ;)

i guess the polar bag will be the same, but smaller (smaller handle, zipper,.. 8) )

I have not tried yet, but the bag also seems to be pretty waterproof.

    Hi everyone,

sorry for this probably not-so-smart question, but I can't find the answer (in the "extensive" manual or the forum, got my Virus TI2 Keyboard today.. ;) )

First a question about my understanding of the multi mode:

With multi mode enabled, I can play several different presets at once, either on the same key (if they have the same key range set) or on different keys (like part 1 of my patch from c1-c3 and part 2 of my patch above that) simultaneously. Means I press either C3 and hear 2 presets at once layered on top of each other or press c2 and c4 and hear two different presets playing at the same time (or only one preset at a time, depending on the key).

    Is that correct?

    Second:

How do I enable this multi mode? I tried the following, but it didn't work out:
Without Ableton Live running but USB cable inserted, using Audio Out 1 (L/R) into my Fireface I hit the button "Multi", changed for example to "50" with the value button and start playing - only one preset plays. I hit part (to switch to part 2), play again - another preset plays. But not both or all in this preset at once. I also tried to create my own, and set the octave ranges for each of those. That did work in way, that I still had to switch the part to play them, but not both at the same time. (I also checked if they use the same audio out, they do)

With Ableton Live 8 and VC loaded, I created some kind of multi, using 2 presets (in "1" and "2" in the left), but no matter what I do then, only patch "1" is playing. In patch "2" there is no audio output visible. I think I use the USB Audio at that moment to get the sound in my DAW (so it's bypassing the Fireface on its way to the DAW, not from it).

Can someone please explain button by button from start how I get a multi playing, in both versions (stand alone and with VC)?

If my understanding of the Multi Mode is wrong, what is it for then?

    Thank you!

Edit: Ok, with the old Ableton Tutorial I think I can figure out how this is working with VC - but in stand-alone mode, I still don't have a clue :(

    Hi everyone,

is there a way to use the TI2 Keyboard in some kind of split mode?
So if I have a multi patch loaded, can I define the first 2 octaves to patch 1, the next octaves to patch 2 and so on?
With 61 keys this should work out very well, to play several different "instruments" at once without having to switch between them.
I asked a guy in a music store in NY, he said yes but could not find the setting for that :)

    Thanks!
