Having some issues w/ S/PDIF out...

Trying to send digital audio out to a MOTU 308, which is working perfectly w/ other synths w/ both RCA & Optical S/PDIF.

With everything yanked from the 308 except the TI2 and the TI2 as a S/PDIF clock "slave", I get "clicks" in the audio output

Trying to use the TI2 as a master clock, I can't seem to get 48k out of it (need that to match all my other gear plugged into the 308...).
The MOTU 308 has a function where it will slave to a specified digital input and display the "found" clock rate on the front panel. No brainer. When I have it in this mode, with the Virus powered off (or the RCA plug yanked), the MOTU "hunts" for a clock, as is expected. When I switch on (or plug in) the Virus, it locks to 44.1.

    I Have:

Set the Virus clock to "Internal"
Set the Clock Freq to "48khz"

on what I think is the appropriate config page.

    Am I missing something?

P.S. I'd rather use the MOTU as master, but seem the remember reading others have this "click" problem as well, i.e. the TI2 wants to be the master clock, and that has never been resolved...

Does anyone here use the TI2 S/PDIF out w/ the TI2 clocked to something "upstream" without issues? Has anyone gotten it to "send" a 48k clock(sample rate, etc.) to S/PDIF out?

    All thoughts/suggestions appreciated.
