+1 for this feature.
its crazy not having this feature available.
billy
yep, undo would be awesome.
or a compare button... or a AB button like on Waves Plugins. ... (one of the best features a plugin can have)
billy
yep. ... +1
The key to getting Phat sounding reeses is the Sub component and to AB with something you like. e.g... Optiv BTK and layer 2/3 layers together.
I'm not talking about a Sub/mid/tops either, thats standard. I'm talking about adding another layer of bass.. more tonal. Just to thicken up the sound.
Also add some Parallel compression and Distortion. That will really thicken up your sound.
Don't go to crazy with Distortion either. You will just muddy up the sound and your reese will sound more like white noise and lack definition.
And def EQ out the mud around 250-500hz but your AB reese should help you out there.
Good luck
billy
PS... check out the Optiv Q&A on Dogs on Acid for more tips on what he does.
For Mac users there is Audio Hijack which is pretty damn good. About $50
for PC i use Easy Video to Audio... but there is some pretty good FREE ones out there like Pazera
Good luck

Sorry for the late reply.
Yeah, thats a pretty sweet drone.
Stuff like that.
I've actually been getting into the Wave PCM's (after a mate showed me) and really love the sounds.
also the Wavetables and Spectral Waves are killer so I think Drones shouldn't be an issue at all!
Peace.
Billy
I'll give Space Drone a whirl...
I was hoping to just use the Virus but its all good. If you can do it faster in another synth I'm ok with that.
Maybe one day we'll get sampling OSC so we can pitch stuff down loads and make drones!
b
I'd like to see some flexible routing options....
maybe reverb before distortion or distortion after delay or chorus... what ever....
It will probably never happen but meh... a boy can dream.
b
ok,
from what i'm understanding you are tying to make another virus instruments which wont work.
You need to just make another midi track and assign that to midi 2. Which on the snow is 2nd layer.
Do the same for the 3rd layer etc.
hope that helps.
i haven't used Cubase for a while.
Bill
Hi,
The best resources i know are the Ben Crosland Bootcamps on the main site or Vimeo.
Or the Virus Tutorials on the site explaining the filiters etc.
The videos are awesome and Ben is a freaking GOD when it comes to the virus!
Big it up BEN!
Keep the videos coming please!
Anyways, give them a whirl. You'll learn loads, I know I have!
Hope that helps

hey man,
I had this issue with my Polar as when when i upgraded my PC.
I tried everything.
1. changed USB ports.
2. Used a USB hub (because i'm running an i7)
3. Installed/re-installed old/new software
4. tried it in live mode and with different audio card settings.
NOTHING worked till i got a PCIe usb card.
Now the polar is flawless and doesn't miss a heartbeat.
give that a whirl. The card cost me $5 aud
so well worth it
hope that helps

Hey peeps,
Howdy all!
Just wanted to get some tips on how to make drones with the Virus Ti.
I normally make drones using high frequency samples pitched down in the sampler with heaps of rev and distortion.
I want to make some with my Polar though so any tips?
Cheers in advance
Bill
Man, had the same thing happen to me! Everything was working fine and then for some unknown reason the Virus Ti Polar didn't want to recognized by my Win 7 PC.
However, after changing all the USB leads and trying out all the available ports I had and having no luck a quick Virus Reset did the trick!
Now, back to making some soundzzz.....
