Just buying Analog Sounds Vol 2, from UXS/Sebastien, sounds like a great addition to Vol 1! Use that set a lot, so expecting this to be awesome!

I'll have a listen in the next few days, thanks! I just bought Matt Jessups Mininova Numan patches, so there's also a few Vox Humana patches there to compare to.
EG
Pretty sure you can multi-select a bunch of patches, using the keyboard, then drag/drop down one spot, creating a space...
EG
I did some "Stress Testing" with my Snow and my TI Keyboard, some time ago. The Snow started to get out of synch with more than 3 patches, but the TI wasn't much better, maybe 5 or 6. Depends on patch complexity and arpeggiator use, of course.
EG
You could always buy the "Virus FM Power" patches off Synthmorph and have a look at those, they really are quite interesting!
EG
Try arming a track for recording, then the corresponding track will play and become active for editing.
EG
Did you say you had the keyboard connected to the Virus MIDI Thru? Or MIDI In? Thru won't work.
EG
Exactly. Now, the Atomizer, that's far more useful and fun!
EG
Turn off the Virus.
Disconnect all MIDI cables from the Virus.
Turn it back on.
See if the screen works again.
if not, contact Access support by email.
If so, connect the cables, but make sure MIDI Out from the Virus goes to MIDI In or Thru, on your other gear. And only connect other gears MIDI Out or Thru to the Virus MIDI In.
Cheers,
EF
Probably not what you wanted to hear, but the Virus vocoder really isn't very good. I spent hours trying to get a good sound out of it once and gave up. Better off with a cheap MicroKorg or Mininova, IMO.
EG
I've had less crackles and timing stutters since using a separate sound card to the Virus. (I have a Steinberg UR-22.) Plus newer sound cards will usually have lower latency than the Virus, as it was designed quite a few years ago. I wouldn't say the sound quality has noticeably changed, though, just less headaches.
Cheers,
EG
How high is your main volume? I usually run mine only half-way up.
EG
I didn't have a problem with my TI, but my Steinberg UR22 interface stopped working and I had to reinstall the drivers. I haven't tried my Snow, yet, though.
EG
I bought this set when it first came out and really enjoy it! Great mixture of sounds and quite a lot of variety, plus good to have Aftertouch programmed on most of the Arps. The Stranger Things arps are extra good!
cheers,
EG
Oops, sorry. Clearly, the restore does not do what you thought it does, I've seen a few people mention a similar problem. You could also use VCC to re-load the factory patches to the ROM banks and use VC to re-load the RAM banks, one at a time, after downloading them from the Virus website...
EG
Sorry I didn't chime in earlier, but I've had great fun running my bass through my TIs! The effects themselves, are pretty typical, compared to bass or guitar effects, but using the bass as an oscillator source is far more interesting! (Especially when the timing is coming from a MIDI sequence!)
Yes, it's pretty easy to load the Virus Input patches and use those, but far more interesting to enable Input on other patches and see what happens. Very easy to do in VC in a DAW, but harder to find the option in the TI itself. I can always find it in the Snow, but forget where it is in the TI Keyboard, LOL!
EG
Or what about detailed measurements to make a Polar-sized box for a TI Desktop or TI Keyboard model?
EG
It just means "Edited", as in you have changed a parameter value and might want to save it. If you then change patches and don't save, the change will be lost.
EG
Sounds interesting, will have to try it!
EG
Sounds more like an internal power supply problem than software, but best to contact Virus support by email and they can help.
My internal power supply was replaced many years ago and there's some good threads to help on this forum and Infekted.org.
cheers,
EG
