Just looking at photos I took of my TI61, when I replaced the battery:
All the rear panel sockets are mounted on a single board, with a few ribbon cables running to the main board, etc. it doesn't look too difficult to replace an output socket, but you'd have to remove the board, as it looks like the mounting clips and most of the soldering and tracks are underneath.
Cheers,

Hold on, there's a few restrictions. You can only load entire banks of patches into ROM/RAM memory using the VCC utility. And when doing that, you can see all the patch names, but can't audition any patches before copying. If you want to move single patches around, or audition any sounds, first, you need to run the VST in a DAW.

Your internal battery could be going flat, how long since it was changed?

If they are anything like the TI, it's not too hard to get the key bed out, but there's around 10 screws on the base you need to remove. (They make a big rectangle, fairly easy to spot.) And a few on the back panel, that stop the top from tilting up. There's a few screws you don't need to remove, such as 2 for a foam spacer bracket, right in the middle of the bottom of the case. There's also a divider bracket just right of the pitch and mod wheels - that can be tricky and prevent the entire top from lifting, you might need to remove the 2 or 3 screws on that. Don't need to touch the small screws at the left front, where the warranty sticker is.

I agree, it's not a good vocoder, but could be useful for effects and gating, I guess. But a DAW would be easier, of course. I actually bought a Mininova for the vocoder, it's awesome!

Nice work! And pretty interesting video, too! Did you use the Snow for any vocal processing?
EG
Many of these patches also sound great driven by bass through the analog input!
EG
Why do you think the Virus doesn't receive MIDI clock through DIN? I'm pretty sure mine do! Before I started using Ableton Live, I was running GMS on an iPad, sending MIDI clock and notes to my Snow, via the iRig MIDI connector. Worked fine. Have you set the TI to receive external MIDI clock signal?
cheers,
EG
I'm still enjoying this set, especially for live jams, it was a great purchase! Earlier on, today, I finally tried running my bass and Chapman Stick into the TI audio inputs and realised I can control most of the patches with the instrument! WOW! Most of the wobbles and patches with filter modulation sound really great, and not too different to the original, it's just the straight, non-modulated sounds that just sound like distorted bass.
Cant wait for my next band rehearsal!

It's probably because of software like Arturia Analog Lab and V Collection. Why would guys program classic analog patches for a relatively old V.A synth like the Virus, when they can program patches for recreations of the real synths that were used on the original recordings? Much bigger market, I imagine.
EG
I changed mine, but Im fairly used to doing things like that. There's some step-by-step instructions around, which help a lot. (On Infekted.org.)
EG
The effects settings sound different between the two recordings, that makes one sound more focussed...
EG
Can you post a new link to the non-live track? Can't find it by typing the URL in.
EG
Not sure it's directly, connected, but I was frequently experiencing that on my TI until I changed the internal battery.
EG
Did you look under Documents? The default is Documents\Access Music\Virus TI\Patches. Everything under that will be visible in the Virus Control browser, including folders.
EG
You can only access non-loaded patches using the Browser function in the TI Virus Control plugin.

Battery!

I had a similar problem until I changed the internal battery, fixed it immediately.
