Can't run installation. It says "Virus TI does not currently support for 64 bit operating systems". I have a new i7 CPU, XP sp3 64 bit... I'm on the same situation as always. I'm the only one??
You need to download the 64bit installer. The 32bit installer comes up with the message you quoted.

On the access website, login, go to "Support" and find the little widget on the right side called "Product Registration".
Register your Virus and your account is automatically elevated..

I had some success with the express usb card (maplin £20) using a new usb port for the virus only. The glitches and sync errors became less of a problem, but not all together gone. Untill i made sure my powerscheme settings were correct.

i thought i had set these on install but when i checked they where on " portable/ laptop" i changed this to "Home/office Desktop" and hay presto the CPU usage gauge droppped to 5 - 10% and no sync / tempo / timing or arp errors WOOOO HOOOO So i am now happy again. the virus is sounding great. Please try.

You are asked to select a proper power management setting during the setup of the virus ti software. you should remember this settings.

I cant figure out how to access and change the tempo of individual sounds in my TI.
I see the master clock setting in multi mode but I'm having a really hard time understanding why I can't find a simple thing like the tempo of an Arp patch and change it to match the song I'm working with...
Tempo is a global setting and is not stored in the patch (neither SINGLE nor MULTI). For a live situation you could tap the tempo. Would this be a workaround?

Can I ask is the TIOS the same for OSX64 and Win 64 bit,,,or does the virus need firmware update when switching - no biggy just curious to know
The TIOS Firmware is always the same for mac and windows when version numbers match.

Unfortunately I immediately ran into issues which I cannot get passed.
I installed the 3.3.0.00 64 bit driver.
The installer appeared to hang on "Scanning for Virus TI"
Cancelling the installation appears to replace the class complaint drivers with the proper ones.
However, In the Device manager, the TI Snow shows up as "Virus TI USB 2.8.32" with a Code 10 (Device cannot start)

Make sure you are using a free USB root hub. Usually the reason for this is that you exceeding the USB bandwidth .

well just a question as in a topic title
and aswel is there any reason told why it doesnt work on 64 bit OS? because all aplications that are 32 bit can work on 64 bit OS but reconised just as 32.

You can discuss this in the "TIOS 3.3.0.00 has been released" thread. Version 3.3.0.00 is a public beta version introducing 64bit support.
The reason why the older 32bit software does not work in 64bit is: the virus needs a driver, and 32bit drivers can not be used in a 64bit environment, only applications.

The mac version is a common package for 32 and 64 bit (fat universal binary), there is no need for a distinct 64bit installer.

The package comes with plugins in 32bit and 64bit flavour. to maintain compatibility with a 32bit Host you should use the 32bit plugins.
Theoretically the 32bit/64bit plugins are completely exchangeable, but we can't guarantee that hosts will always match them correctly.
The 32bit and 64bit Plugins do communicate the the 64bit driver in the same way.

The data goes into Virus Control and will be shown in changes in the automation. If you want to record MIDI, you want to use the "Virus A-B-C" template and the Remote Mode.

I am considering downgrading from a TI Polar to a Snow. I know that the Snow uses a different plug-in file than the other TI's so I am wondering if there be any issues recalling previous sessions that use my TI Polar. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Although the Virus TI Snow plugin uses the same code, it is different in the number of MIDI channels and has a different automation map. For hosts, these are two distinct plug-ins, so you can not directly load sessions saved with a TI using the TI Snow.
You can, of course, exchange the plugin, load the same sounds and hopefully the sequencer helps to to move automation lines, but it will require manual work.

When recording automation from the Ti (with latest non beta os) into Cubase 5, it records the automation "notches" but then when i click on the "notches" to edit and move them around, it only lets me move them left or right, not up and down...grrr!!
Tried asking on steinberg forum, couple of others had this problem (they were on cubase 4) but no fixes...
anyone??
This is a known issue with the VST3 plugin (which is in version 3.1.x not recommended for production). It is already fixed for the next beta release.

how? I use Logic pro 9 and when I use the sidechain from VC to an audio track the whole VC becomes active just for the sidechain input....would like to know how you can use atomizer in 1 track and the rest of the Virus parts as synth
You can just use the other parts via different MIDI channels. Please follow the tutorials regarding a multitimbral plugin setup.

Is there a quicker way to replace the TI1 rom banks with the TI2 rom banks Or do i have to do it one by one. I had a look at the restore on virus control but it asks me for a saved file (the one when you back up)
Can anybody post the TI2 factory back up file on here for me or is there another way around this.
When i was backing up the RAM banks via midi dump i noticed that bank A picked up the full 126 is it or 128 midi events but banks B, C and D only picked up like 86 events even though 128 presets where showing on the TI? Does the TI2 have different factory RAM banks to the TI1?

The default ROM patches of TI1 and TI2 do differ indeed.
But the 3.x installers do install all factory preset banks in the patches folder, TI1, Snow and TI2.
You can use the BURN TO ROM function of VCC to change the ROMs of your TI.
