I haven't upgraded my OSX or DAW for quite some time, still using OSX version 10.8.5 and Cubase 7! =O

Reason for not upgrading is because at the moment everything works as it should. When producing music i use the Virus for everything, so if I get issues with it I am going to get some real problems, pretty much EVERY single music project I have uses the Virus TI. I am afraid and concerned about upgrading since I have read that USB errors, weird noises, not syncing, no sounds, etc can occur, really concerned if any of that would happen.

Should I take the step and upgrade my OSX to Yosemite (I believe OSX 10.10.4 is the latest version)
and upgrade my Virus TI to 5.1.3.0, and does this work with the latest Cubase Pro 8?
Can anyone please some share some experiences and tryouts?

    Thx for all your replies!

Is there any way to shut it off correctly?
    Should I:

    1. Put it to sleep mode/power off (holding both transpose buttons down) then unplug the power cable and shut down my mac.

    2. Shut down my mac first, then I put the virus to sleep mode and unplug it.

    3. Same as above but don't put it too sleep, just unplug the power.

Dont know if this really matters, but I want to do it the right way. And I want to unplug it because I always unplug everything when I go to sleep :D

    Ok I ran the installer.
But when I opened up Cubase 7 it didnt recognize my TI, i followed the instruction by unplugging, holding down arp edit key etc,
then it said I had a ''version mismatch''. It told me to open up Virus control center, went to ''os updater'' and reinstalled the OS 5.0.3.00 throughout Virus Control Center.
When it was done I went into cubase again but It still said it was a mismatch!

    What should I do?

    Hey all!

I just got my virus yesterday, updated to the latest beta version and i get some weird LFO Tremolo kinda noise that changes over time in the background.
I want to downgrade to the official released version and I wonder if I can just run the 5.0.3.00 installer directly? or should I do something else first?

    Thx!

Hi mate, na don't return it as it isn't broke in the first place! You simply have the BETA operating system on it.
BETA OS versions are tested by Access, but very much still in the development stage... bugs are to be expected.
To void problems in future, only download the released OS... you will find it in the download area, look for OS 5.0.3.00

    Hope this helps mate,

    Aron.

    Thx for the quick answer!

Ok I downloaded the 5.0.3.00 version, I use mac OSX btw.
Should I just run the installer just like that? or should i do something else first before installing?
