GESchwalm I got it to work. I'm not sure about sound quality yet as I haven't played with it much, but it does work. My problem was I didn't have Analog selected for the input in the Global config.

Also, I wasn't able to get any sound until I set the Spread all the way to the right at +63 in the Vocoder settings. This is one of the things pointed out way earlier by someone else in this thread, who posted a reply from Access. That was a good tip!

GESchwalm The way I'm trying to do it is I have my mic channel patched through my mixer and sending to TI2. I'm pretty sure as long as you don't want to use a condenser mic you can also do a 1/4 mic cable.

I still haven't figured out how to get this to work, but I haven't spent much time on it since my original post. I did come across a couple of articles with some information, but I haven't had a chance to try anything out.

Given that nothing seems to register at the input on my TI2, I'm wondering if maybe there is a Global setting I haven't turned on yet or something...

Some upbeat techno! First song done with Hapax and TI2 Keys.

I found the vocoder to be pretty underwhelming if I'm honest. Stock Ableton Live vocoder is much better.
What's confusing when setting it up is you do not actually need to set the input to static or dynamic to hear the effected audio. I have input set to off. That will actually mess it up, if you set the input to static or dynamic. Just setup the virus as you normally would to use it as an effect send for example, and then that's it....just load up the vocoder preset (I use the VocoPad XM preset) and have a midi loop going to the virus channel that is setup with the vocoder preset.

Hello. I think we may be bringing this back from the dead here, but I would like to know how to set up the vocoder w/out a DAW. I have TI2 keyboard and I know audio is making it to my input, but when I turn on the vocoder in the FX settings I get keyboard audio in the right channel only and nothing in the left channel and no vocoded sound. I'm using the left input mono.

I hope everyone is well after all of these years ha!

As a somewhat new user of the TI2 Keyboard I have found support to be pretty responsive and helpful. I've never waited more than a week for an email response, but I've never had an issue that wasn't pretty easily resolved even if it didn't explain why the issue happened in the first place. For example, mid performance my sustain pedal stopped working, and my later investigation revealed that the global setting for sustain cc had changed from 64 to something else. In the days before I got a response I did some research and found that holding the arp edit button while power on would reset some system global params and, sure enough, the global sustain pedal setting was reset to cc 64 and the pedal started working again. Perhaps my sequencer sent some junk and changed the cc value for the pedal, but when I got their response they had nailed what the problem was. After the button combo startup I also noticed that the mod wheel wasn't arbitrarily changing its value anymore either, which was also very annoying. Why were these things happening? I have no idea, but support has been responsive enough for me to continue to enjoy the synth as a live instrument. I have yet to send a support request for hung notes when twisting the distortion type/mix knob while playing, but since I discovered this I just don't touch that knob mid performance. My thought is that this type of stuff will be addressed in a future firmware update, and as you know that hasn't happened in some time, but that would be my only complaint regarding this synth.

Thank you. As I work my way through the presets I'm finding it increasingly easier to edit them so they sound like I want. I've barely scratched the surface yet, but another thing I really like is the performance controls like transpose and solo are easy to get to. That FM knob is wild too. It all sounds amazing and I can't wait to start bussing audio to the inputs and running it through the filters.

Hello everyone! Glad to have this Virus TI2 keys after so many years of saving. I was a bit worried I would have to buy a used one, but luckily Access is still selling them new. I've played keyboards for many years and I'm looking forward to working with this beauty. Pleasure to meet you all. I'm happy to be here.
