yes, that would be nice but unfortunately it's technically impossible. if you have 16 plug-ins open all of those want their discreet stereo signal from the virus and we all know that this would be great but it is impossible with the current bandwidth restrictions. as for automation, depending on which host you use, you _can_ put automation on all tracks routed to virus control, not only one.

i think nobody would like to afford one analogue filter for each of the up to 90 voices... also i think the mini moog inspired cascade filter in the virus is very close to the original...

like i replied to your other post: user patches are totally welcome but we prefer to have them as a download instead of a forum link. the main website lists all downloads in categories and even shows recent additions - much easier to find and more convenient 8)

No problem. Like I said, totally agree that it's way better than the old site, and I know it takes time to get things perfected. Especially on a large corporate site like this.

sonis, are you okay with me sending you an email? we should talk about the details you've mentioned. but i cannot send you a private message through through the board and before i lookup your email (which i consider to be a private thing to a degree) i'd like to know if that's okay with you.

I think this forum would be great if there was an area users can post links to share their virus patches / banks

I have loads I've made that I would happily share with people,

    does anyone else agree?

we prefer to make user patches available as downloads from the main download area. if you have patches you would like to share, please contact us through the email support form

sonis, thanks for all your input. in some things, i totally agree, in other things, my knowledge is just to limited to comment on it. this site is online for only three days, i'm sure that we can improve it. and i'm sure that it is a quantum leap into the right direction compared to our old site :)

the current distribution (3.0.5.00) is not windows 7 compatible. i've red posts by users stating that they managed to install the virus ti software suite with windows 7 successfully but at least for the current version, there is no official support by us. in other words, your milage might vary.

it is not so much us preferring this way, it is apple recommending it. the old way of cabling midi objects into audio objects will result in timing problems and other unwanted side effects. this is true for every audio instrument, not only Virus Control. the easiest way to setup a multi channel instrument in logic 8/9 is to make a new instrument track (cmd-alt-n) with multi-timbral on and 16 parts.

    Yeah, add the Virus Powercore!

I have it in my studio alongside my Virus C, it would be good to see some support from Access considering its your synth.

it is our synth but the distributor is responsible for tech support (and that, in difference to the hardware synths, is TC and not us). if you write into our tech support, you will get an answer of course but as for a forum dedicated to the virus powercore, we will pass. the TC forum is great and there is currently no need to make users have to browse two forums.

I have a new apple laptop. I would like to install the virus package on it. My question is my ti2 polar has version 3.03 on it, if I install 3.03 or 3.05 on it will it overwrite my patches?
I sent an email to support but forgot to mention I used a different computer to do the initial update from 3.00 to 3.03. Thanks...

installing a new OS version doesn't alter the patches. if you install 3.0.5.0, everything will be up to date once the installation will have completed.

well, What I meant was new as in , setup connections and bouncing . Because as of now there are only tutorials on set up for older DAW's. Just wondering if any updates will follow or are the connection to the newer DAW any different?
Like for example : Ableton live tutorial is based on ableton live 6 has anything changed with the virus connection wise and bouncing methods between 6 and the current 8 with the new os3 ?

essentially for Virus Control, nothing has changed. but you're right, it looks old. the real problem is how much manpower you put into those things instead of new things. but we got your point. the tutorials look outdated.
