I just created a little video to showcase these insane sounds:

I tried to backup all my old banks using this (via the 'Virus Control' software, before selling my Virus desktop.
Now, I want to access those as .mid banks, so that I can load them into my 'Snow'.
I can't seem to find a way to access those using the HC (Aurora/MIM0 software, and Virus Control gives me a message that I can't load a back up into a different piece of hardware.
Any insights?
thanks

Patches with names like that are in Bank U (with a few at the beginning of Bank H) with the author being "CM".
Here is a link to download a pdf file of TI RAM and ROM preset patch names:
Cheers!

That's a really great .pdf - happy to have it, and I did look at bank U, unfortunately, this is the not the patch bank I'm looking for.
I really appreciate your time....thanks! I'm still hunting (I have well over 100 patch banks, and can't remember which one had the odd characters for every name)

The patch bank had very unconventional sounds, with names like: '^^::::.,'
I can't remember who the author of that was - and am trying to locate it in my Virus files.
I hope someone can help.....it would be much appreciated
Thanks

Same here I bought a cheap refurbished Macbook Air with High Sierra loaded just to have ability to update the Virus firmware and use the plugin. Glad I did since my new Virus TI2 had really old version of the firmware that I had to upgrade to latest version.
Thanks.....yeah, I'm using the MIM software, and generally, it's great......still a few little issues but they've been pretty good at getting back to me.....

You need to use the Virus Control software on Windows 10 or an older Mac OS X version before Catalina to burn them to the empty ROM banks. Another way is to use the Virus TI plugin to load into RAM banks and that also runs on Windows 10 PC or earlier OS version of Mac OS X before Catalina.
Right now I am testing load MIDI sound packs with the ipad Touch software that a third party developer wrote to make life easier on the Virus. I just got it setup to work with my new Virus TI2 and ipad to change settings and patches on the Virus from my ipad but need to figure out how to load presets from ipad with the app.
Thanks. I actually keep an old MBP around which still has an old OS on it, just for patch librarian stuff with my Virus (I just didn't understand how the larger patch banks would translate to the 1/2 capacity banks of the SNOW model......

I've just switched from a Virus Ti Desktop, to a Snow (waiting for it to arrive).
I'm curious if anyone has a link - insights as to taking my patch bank library where some of the patch banks are up to 128 patches, and importing them into the Snow, who's banks are only 64 patches
Thanks for any insight......

I'm going to sell my awesome Ti, and buy a Snow, ideally a BLACK ONE! (I need a smaller footprint)
Anyone interested in talking, or know where I can get my hands on a Black Snow??
Thanks Will

The sound and almost all functionality of the synth is fine, however I am having a serious repeated issue:
When I try to select a patch, scrolling using the 'Shift' + soft knobs, or the +/- (Increment/Decriment) buttons, I am able to begin selecting presets, then - all scrolling stalls.
Then, a few seconds later, the scrolling that I did, 'catches up'.
Never had anything like this happen before.
Any ideas?
Thanks

It's a bit of pain to get the MIM software set up and working right, but from my experience, you only have to put in that time, ONCE
;0)

It took me a bit to get the MIM software working properly. I had to buy a specific MIDI din cable, etc. and then make absolutely sure that the hardware was configured exactly as stated on the MIM site.........A bit involved, but you only have to do it once. Beyond that, you have to check that, in the upper window of the software, the MIDI IN & MIDI OUT fields (drop down menu) are set correctly.
Once I got all that sorted, YES, the patches change on the hardware as they should......Hope that helps. Just uploaded a very detailed Virus video:
All the best

Just got a VIRUS recently and decided to do a video to help people and other users understand the similarities and differences......

Just uploaded an informational video about the whole Virus line.......(Hoping I got most of it correct)

Really frustrating that the Virus software isn't going to be updated. Grateful that the Mystery Island stuff works ok, and is so cheap these days....
