i bought the virus b yesterday and the previous owner has took over all the original patches, Im unsure how to connect the virus to my computer to change patches

If you do a factory reset it should restore those patches for you. With the Virus A, the way to do it was via holding the keys LFO 1 SHAPE and LFO 2
SHAPE while switching the VIRUS on. You should check the manual though to see if the Virus B does it the same way.It is a little complicated to change patches on the Virus at first, as you will need to configure it , and also have the right software to navigate and audition sounds. The best software by far for this is sound diver. You will need to hook up both your Virus midi ins and outs to your computer to make it work, and learn how to put the Virus into midi recieve mode. Sorry, I own a Virus TI now so I cannot remember the specific way any more. I just remember it took a little while to work it out.

I am so sorry, I now have a Virus TI so I cannot check for you. It might be a good idea to update the OS to the latest one...
