Looks like the emulator is the way forward then because everyone I speak with about the Aura plugin has the same conclusion - it's a PITA to configure and buggy as hell. My two units will be gathering dust in the closet after I've lifted the ROM images. Going full pirate here.

BTW, I don’t know where you heard that Mac mOS doesn’t support USB 1.1 but that’s incorrect. I grabbed my testing Mac which is on the latest version of Ventura from my office. Took a few USB-C to A adapters and then plugged in several devices.

They all worked.

Marc from Access specifically stated sometime ago here that the Virus USB ports are USB 2 compatible. The firmware is only 1.1, the firmware can be upgraded. But access has done f*ckall about it, as usual.

Funnily enough, Kemper halved prices on the KPA this month after realizing they had real competition from Neural DSP’s quad cortex and the TONEX Profiler pedal, both of which are cheaper options.

Meanwhile they’re still re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic with a few new features.

I even DM’d Kemper himself on Insta, no response of course.

Not with the Virus, it was a specialised driver and API that handled MIDI and audio streaming to the unit. The virus was never class compliant

Which is why I firmly believe a class compatible USB over MIDI driver is essential for this. I advocated for it in the past and I will advocate for it in the future.

Heard some interesting news from the DSP Emulator group. Ploytec has made a U-turn and is developing a USB audio driver for the latest version of MacOS which I'm going to assume will cover Apple Silicon(M1/M2) compatibility.

Maybe this means an update TI plugin will finally be done.

Waldorf and other companies went broke and pulled the same horse shit on synth owners in the past before venture capital bought them and put cash and resources to new software and hardware updates. I like my Virus TI2 that I bought last year and will use mostly as stand alone hardware to record the audio without the plugin in spite of the crude interface. It is still better than my Moog Sub 37 that has less features and cruder user interface. Hell for fucks sake the Kemper Access Music people do not even support this forum as it has been invaded by spammers posting sports better horse shit all over it.

Well aware, I shouldn't have to plan an entire system around one device however. Access needs to get of their f***king asses and sort this out or declare it incompatible/EOL so I can decide whether or not to keep these things around.
