Working on a session today whilst turning the width dial on the unison control and my virus spat out some horrendous high pitched saw tone that almost deafened me. This is not good guys.
I have also noticed when working on a patch in logic that artefacts are introduced which sounds like a wandering pitch up and down which can be seen on a frequency analyser . Most noticeable when working with a pure sine wave tone but can be heard in any patch whilst i'm working on it. If i press the start button then stop in logic it goes away. I have to continually do this in order to work on patches inside logic.
I have the latest version of logic , I have the TI plugged into it's own usb pci card in my mac pro with nothing else using it . Snow Leopard is the OS. I've kinda got used to the Virus playing up when i have loop mode on ( spitting out random sounds when the track plays and losing the timing of the lfos) , but this is not acceptable from a 3 grand synth. Loop wasn't engage in this circumstance and I have the pre cycling on.

it's basically a square wave with narrow pulse with the filter cut off modulated and saturated hard out into reverb and delay -

Chewie's pissed at all this half-assed "filth dubstep" floating around atm - this is how it's done:

So the 1% constant seems to be causing some problems.
I'm using latest logic, latest snow leopard on mac pro etc
I have in the modulation matrix slot 1 lfo 3 bipolar with amount 1 assigned to osc 1 pitch and amount 2 as osc 2 pitch. With no actual added modulation (ie sliders at 0)
Then in modulation slot 2 I have 1% constant modulating slot 1 amount 1+2 by +6 to get a vibrato effect whilst also doing osc1+2 pwm in the lfo tab on lfo 3.
It works but after a while the patch becomes out of tune and goes back into tune when i remove the 1% constant modulation amount (the +6) -
Thanks man it's forthcoming on Subway with another tune of mine called magnetic

This one's just got signed to Paradise Lost Recordings and wil be coming out with Outpost 31/Adagio for Dub and a remix of Survival by someone who shall remain secret for now
Will be coming out on Vinyl and Digi in early Fall. -
i'm not sure if i understand what you mean
marc
When you switch on unison all 3 dials are set to 0. Usually it is set to detune 48, spread 100% and lfo phase -64.
-
Anyone noticed the unison mode has all dials set anti-clockwise, bit of a pain.

enjoy! -
Thanks guys.
@ Garbo - here's a little tip, try using two notch filters in series and using the low pass distortion type for the actual movement of the patch -
You can already sync and automate your lfos since V3. Look in your daw for LFO(x) clock.
Where X stands for the number of the lfo you are using and like was said you can use the mod matrix to have one lfo controlling multiple parameters (not just the cut off) -
The VIrus gets pimped up again, you guys rock!

Nice one...can I use it in my next podcast?
Cheers,
Berni.
Yeah man just getting them signed atm I'll send this and some new bits in the next week
