Looks like Access hasn't even employed the person that'll be responsible for the update yet..

yes, there is something strange. we have to dig i deeper (which is a problem because we're missing compatible DAWs). as for the audio output itself, we had 10.15 beta testers who confirmed that it _was_ working and we still need to investigate what the issue behind the release version is - for now, you need to use the analog outs.

i personally will stay away from catalina for the next month for my music mac, i've already received a ton of warning emails and as far as I can see, audio interface manufacturers also haven't issued any statement that indicates that things are working smooth.

    hope that helps, marc

Today I did some experimenting with a cheap secondhand audioface I got.

Using the Virus's Analog outs does work when playing midi by hand, but it doesn't play back the actual midi notes in your DAW.

For that you'd need to setup the Virus as an external midi instrument, which means you can't use the plugin.

So not only audio via usb is broken, the plugin functionality is broken too. You can only use the plugin for programming patches rightnow, nothing else.

I really hope you guys at Access could give us some updates soon!

Even if that means bringing the bad news.. (no more updates for MacOS 10.15 and later) at least we won't be kept in the dark anymore..

Since it looks like Access decided to stop supporting their currently sold Virus TI2 line to work with modern operating systems, I'm looking into getting a good Audio / Midi interface to track the Virus TI's audio with. It has to have at least 3 stereo inputs (although more is better incase) and preferably fits into a 19 inch rack.

Am I? Have you seen my other posts regarding Access wanting to drop support for the VC application?

I just like to offer a bit of a perspective, and show that pretty much every (event the largest) audio companies have problems getting everything back to work on macos 10.15, especially with legacy hardware that was designed more than ten years ago. Also, consier that being an early adopter and upgrading your audio workstation whenever a new macos is released has been a bad idea for... decades (!).

Anyway, I really really hope that Ploytec can figure out a way to get the USB drivers working on macos 10.15, and also that there will be a new app available which takes over the VC functionality for firmware upgrades and backups.

An early adaptor?? What if you just got a new Mac with Catalina on it? Are you supposed to downgrade to an unsupported OS??

By the way, I own all Native Instruments plugins and they all work with Catalina! The hardware you mentioned is legacy. Something the Virus TI2 definitely is NOT! A product can only be called LEGACY 3 years after the last copy of it was sold and since the Virus line is still being sold, it is FAR from being legacy! You can say Ploytec all you want but this is on Access! They are selling the product of which they claim it should work, and it doesn't!

Hello. Sorry if this question was asked before. But as control center doesn't work, is there a way that I can send the audio to my line outs instead of USB, without control center?

    Cheers

You can. Open your Virus TI plugin, go to ''Common'' and then click ''MAIN OUT'' where you can select your audio output of choice.

Are you using an external interface with multiple Inputs? If so, which one? I'm on the lookout for one since it doesn't look like Access will be fixing this.

What are you trying to achieve by defending Access?

Don't put the blame on Ploytec. They don't sell the Virus TI!

You can't tell customers to not upgrade or to use the audio out channels instead.. the product should work as advertised!

Regardless of the technical cause, Access is responsible for the products they sell. And I think they've had plenty of time to make it work within the MacOS beta period.

I personally will stay away from catalina for the next month for my music mac, i've already received a ton of warning emails and as far as I can see, audio interface manufacturers also haven't issued any statement that indicates that things are working smooth.

What are you even saying with this? Do you mean Is Access is working on an update that works on Catalina? Or are you suggesting we will have to wait for Apple to magically fix this? (which they won't btw, I already tried Beta 10.15.1) To me that sounds like you're trying to shift the blame to Apple.

My USB audio interfaces and my plugins all work without a problem. Even all the Native Instruments, who issued a special warning about Catalina. I get that the Virus a bit more complex than a normal plugin but the fact is, we haven't seen an update in years. Acces seems more than happy to do nothing about it.

Das ist das Problem mit Reason. Reason hat keine Multi midi input. Gott sei Dank können Sie es jetzt als Plugin ausführen in einem anderen Sequenzer und den Virus daneben runnen.
