Part volume would be CC 7 on the respective MIDI channel. To control Part volume, you can use either a different MIDI controller, or put the Virus into Remote mode so that it's a a MIDI controller and set up all knobs to send MIDI CCs.
Patch volume is stored in the patch and can be controlled via Soft Keys. The part for the patch which you want to control must be active for that to work.

Does that mean it works without any hack in OSX 10.12.1 ?

It might also be that the Virus is simply running out of voices. I observed that voice stealing behaves differently on the same part of music, depending on what was played before. Most probably has to do with the spill over from previous notes (release, delays, reverb tails).

Wild guess: Try to move the (one?) sound that gets muted to another channel/part. If it is on an even numbered channel (e.g. 4) , move to an odd one (e.g. 11) and vice versa. As I understood from another thread, all odd channels are processed on one cpu and all even ones to the other.

Old post, I know... but there's a wavetable called Waterphone. I always wondered what the name relates to - now I know! And I think that wavetable would probably be suitable to create a Waterphone patch.

Thanks for your efforts and solution! Great woork!

you can find this it in the "Virus TI Setup Guide.pdf" locaded in your Access Virus Manuals folder. Thanks!

How about stop wasting energy and switch everything off when you're not using it?!
Regarding the noise: That's most probably the noise the Virus TI produces when the sound engine crashes due to CPU overload. I had that happen on a rare occasion when fiddling around with the patch audition function. Maybe idling for many hours will yield the same result. Maybe some sort of buffer overflow...

In order to use side-chaining, you need to enable the “3 Outputs / 1 Input” mode in
Virus Control’s settings first. Please note that once this mode is enabled, the Virus
cannot double as a sound card anymore. Also, please note that, at the time of
writing, the side-chaining implementation of some sequencers is either non-existent
or faulty. Steinberg Cubase for instance does not support it at all for virtual
instruments and, at the time of writing, Apple Logic has an issue which results in a
delayed audio signal at the side-chain input.Interesting! Though the section about Cubase not offering side chaining might be outdated. In which resource did you find that?

Thanks for the heads up! Now even more looking forward to see JMJ live later this year!

Unless Apple currently has a serious bug with driver signatures in Sierra (not impossible, but unlikely because a lot more hardware would be affected and you would hear about it)May I suggest you read this:
https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/65232Seems like random USB drivers don't work anymore with Sierra.
Enjoy! -
Hello
How do i use the virus ti effects in other channels that the virus isnt the instrument?I think I do not understand the question. What do you want to acheiv?
-
Anyway the disable SIP works flawlessly and i tested it with my Polar TI - Snow and my TI2 Desktop all day long.Thank you for checking and your positive attitude!

That would be one more issue to watch when rendering audio from the Virus TI.
However, it could be that Ableton Live is sending that note early... couple of thoughts for testing:
- If you use a Synth Plugin instead of the Virus to play and record that line, is it in sync?
- If you use the Virus standalone without Virus Control over USB, is it in sync?
- If you use the Virus standalone with MIDI and Audio cables, is it in sync? -
Fascinating... with all your cleverness, education and skill level, how keen you are to condemn Access and cast the first stone...
With 20+ years experience in SW development, I can tell you it's always these "< 1h" jobs that turn out to be a huge headache. It may be a 1 hour job if you know exactly what to do. But what if not. What if there are problems. And even if you get it done within an hour, there's still the whole build process, testing, packaging, publishing. And all of a sudden you face weeks of unplanned work load.
If the fix is actually to switch off signature checks, then this could (and should) have been announced by the manufacturer. But maybe that's just the surface...

I'd try to send the patches from the Virus B as sysex to a software (DAW, Sysex Librarian) and then send it back to the TI.
Naturally, make a backup of the synth banks before sending around patches...

Patch tempo can be adjusted via automation or by "Shift-Env Attack" I think! Not at TI just now so can't remember exactly, but it is SHIFT plus one of the Envelope buttons.
Cool tip! It's on the Amp Env Release knob. Amp Env Attack is Patch Volume.

Also, is there a way to create a hold-mode for patches that aren't arpeggios? I do a lot of minimalist/ambient, and I'd love to be able to have the ability to hold a pad, like we can with arpeggios. You mean key latch? If that was available, I'd love to know as well!

You can get these plus any of our other soundsets at http://www.nuttytraxx.co.ukCouple of cool sounds in there. But why does the TI Soundset cost twice as much as other synth soundsets?

to oliAtBass,
thx for the info, i am on ableton and at this time ableton does not support vst3.
Ah, ok, but it should also work with the AU plugin. Actually, I was able to use Auto Sampler in MainStage on the Virus TI via Virus Control.
In MainStage/Logic: Add instrument channel, Add VC as Plugin, Add AutoSample as FX Plugin.
