I think that the reason why nothing is done to support new technology from Access Kemper Music and I blame Kemper and would tell him that to his face too is the following:

a. Kemper does not give a fuck about Virus owners

b. Kemper is short of technical resources to update drivers and software for Virus hardware

c. Kemper is making more money on the stupid lame Kemper amp hardware.

d. Access Music is low on cash and resources to invest in software updates and future hardware design

Waldorf and other companies went broke and pulled the same horse shit on synth owners in the past before venture capital bought them and put cash and resources to new software and hardware updates. I like my Virus TI2 that I bought last year and will use mostly as stand alone hardware to record the audio without the plugin in spite of the crude interface. It is still better than my Moog Sub 37 that has less features and cruder user interface. Hell for fucks sake the Kemper Access Music people do not even support this forum as it has been invaded by spammers posting sports better horse shit all over it.

can you run a tool to check if midi is working between your computer and the virus? Midi does not transmit audio so you have two different issues. Also the virus control software only works on older macos versions prior to Catalina or windows 10.

email support ask them why and when

ah good to know! Considering that my new virus ti2 cost 2k plus less than these Waldorf synths, I’m glad to have the multi-timbral polyphony. Yeah we need new macos driver support no doubt! I wish Kemper would show us virus owners and users some love here.

indeed it still keeps up with the newer expensive 5k Waldorf synths except for the outdated user screen.

to be fair, Waldorf at one point dropped the ball on their synths that had encoder issues. It was not until they went bankrupt and bought out by another company that gave them the funding for new hardware. I think Virus platform is dead as we won’t see another one for years if ever which is sad. Access Kemper does not even post or reply on this forum anymore. They have not updated the website banner page in years.

doubtful as support appears to have been abandoned by them for new OS versions. I personally believe that they are just keeping the bare minimum working for hardware as no future virus synthesizers are planned and the website still shows the same crappy lady pop artist singer from 10 years ago. Virus website has not even been updated and they do not even update social media. Waldorf in contrast is moving ahead with new hardware and software updates. Same for Sequential, Moog, and Oberheim. I love my Virus but my next digital synth will be a Waldorf or Nord as they keep current.

I had to use MIDI as USB did not work well for me with the Aura MI software on M1 macbook ventura. No word from Aura support either. That was only way to get it working on my experience.

Access support helped me on an older version of the Macos that is supported per their website and warranty on my new Virus. I doubt they would help me get it working on Mac os ventura for new M1 macbook however. I did get it working on Windows 10 but it was so slow and prone to crashing in the DAW that I now use Aura MI or the Virus ipad touch app.

Aura or the ipad touch app for Virus are the way to go. I rarely ever use the legacy TI plugin as it was way more trouble than worth dealing with.

same here even though I use my E-4 voice tweaker vocoder for that purpose would be neat to know the virus way to use a mike for it

agree this is the only synth in my setup that lacks an off and on switch.

nice same here I’m in Northern California and love the psytrance sounds I’m getting out of my new virus ti2. Almost like the virus was made for all types of trance type music. Infected Mushroom type vibes on mine.
