Hi guys, I don't have the SD (Sound Diver Virus) since I bought my Virus B second hand on e-bay. This lets me with the SMF versions of the patches in the download section. As long as I see, it's not a sysex file. It's plain midi file. Thus I tried to put a DAW to play it and send it to Virus. The problem is that Virus won't save it all, but I have to manually store single by single! Am I doing something wrong? The MIDI DUMP RX is in ENABLE or in ForceToBankB (since I want to preserve BankA). I just downloaded MIDI-OX... Is there any way around it using MIDI-OX? Any help?!

    Thanks a lot Timo!

Its a Global Parameter under the Ctrl Menu. Its described in the page 177 of Access Virus OS4 [ Arpeggsend - This parameter determines whether or not (ON or OFF, respectively) the arpeggiator sends the notes it generates to the MIDI Out ] I succeded in recording the arpeggiated notes in Sonar with 2 midi channels (1 for the notes comming from the keyboard midi controller and other for recording data comming out from the Virus B Midi Out). With this setup you can record the arpeggiated notes and control information (as knob moviments of filter section, for example). You have to put MIDI Panel to "Int+Midi", and that also can be done in the Ctrl Menu. One last thing though is that you have to disable midi send or midi through in the sequencer track receiving the arpeggios and control data, otherwise the arpeggiator will stop or play oddly. Its also explained in the Manual.

Hi there! Is there any way to record arpeggiated notes as "MIDI" from Virus B into any DAW? I've tried with Sonar 8 (which will record and discriminate any CC changes coming out of Virus B MIDI OUT as cutoff, attack, etc., from filters section) and Live 8.0.5(which recognizes MIDI OUT but can't record or discriminate among CC changes). In both programs I can only record continuous midi notes being played by the midi controller, but not the arpeggiated ones comming out of Virus B.

thanks for the reply Mark! that was what I thought at first, but the "Access Virus OS4 Manual", at its page 215 says that " [...] the convention in the Virus is that, when several of these PARTs are patched through a single MIDI channel, only the PART with the lowest PART number is addressed by incoming controllers; all other PARTs ignore this data." And that's what is actually happening! So it leaves me with 2 options: 1) split my notes midi tracks in 3 separate midi tracks, with the same information but addressed to diferent midi channels, and correspondingly change the midi channels of the PARTs; 2) maybe use SysEx somehow in the MIDI tracks containing the controller data to let Virus know exactly which PART I'm referring to. I'm most interested in the second option. Any ideas as to the appropriate SysEx line for comprising just this?!

Hi guys! This is my first hardware synthesizer so any help on this would be highly appreciated.
I've created a multi program with 3 multi parts, managed to make a song out of it and recorded the midi notes in a sonar 8 track.
Then I started playing with the filter cutoff 1 and 2 and filters attack and recorded this to a different midi track.
Now, if I try to playback all this in virus, the control changes being sent from sonar sequencer to virus will default to the Part 1, (or the Part with the lesser number, according to manual). I've put all the multiparts to the same midi channel and would like to know if there's any easy way to address recorded controller changes, let's say in different midi tracks, to specific Parts. Of course I would like to do this before converting everything to audio.
Could you give me a hand on that? ?(
