Please help me with few questions that I need to try get my head around

I understand that the Virus TI uses +4dBu Line level Balanced outputs - I want to record this analog out through a 2ch pre amp, and I have read that I should use the instrument input on the pre using unbalanced cables as the input is unbalanced - Can I record a Line Level signal from the virus into an instrument input like this (using unbalanced cables)

The Pre also has line level inputs - would I have better results recording into the line level inputs using balanced cables?

If I want to record into a mic pre which using the mic input - should I be using a Line - Mic DI or a Instrument to Mic DI?

Any insight would be appreciated - thanks!

I just stumbled upon this now, as I have been having nightmares with sync issues - wondered if there was a panel like this out there, did a Google and found this! Thanks so much for this, it is a life saver! very much appreciated - puts the VC to shame! I like the original VC skin look that I saw a few paged back, is it possible to get that? Thanks again.... life saver!
