It woul dbe great to have this feature. Wouldn't this Kill the Clavia Nord wave?

User Sampling/Samples as Oscilator
-
-
That would be interesting.
-
I don't know if the TI is up to sampling - but I definitely think this is one front that the Virus is behind on (one of very few fronts).
Even blofeld can do multisampling, etc. If the Virus could sample (with expandable/swappable memory, eg SD card
) It would be even more of a beast (I would have to buy it, all other budgets suspended until it's bought).
-
I know a lot of people dream for sampling in a Virus but I don't see it. although I would like it, I don't think it has the capability for sampling.
Also Virus is synthesis based on Wavetables and Virtual models, for sampling I use a sampler or a resampling synth.
IMO the Virus really needs user Wavetable import,

I would love it. If it's possible, please implement this feature.
-
or maybe they could expand the range with a little sample box/percussion synth
-
I think its imposible due limitations in the hardware.
-
I don't think it's a good idea.
It would multiply the patch size by several orders of magnitude, reducing the total number of patches the synth can store. It also would certainly greatly increase the VC plugin startup time. -
Better than user samples i prefer user wavetables, it could be more accesible than user samples for memory capabilities problems

-
what if the samples were single cycle loops or impulse samples
-
maybe a function with input signal can do it....like atomizer
-
d you mean synthesising the input like a granular fx unit......
begs the question..........do you graulize the atoms.........or atomize the granules
-
IMO the Virus really needs user Wavetable import,
2cmake it 4c
...i definitely agree on that
-
i couldnt agree more, plus one more for the option of using single cycles from WAV files.
if the blofeld can do it im sure the virus can! surely such small amounts of audio wouldnt store that much data. were talking less than 500kb each.
i would definitely sacrifice the storage of a few patch banks to make way for this added, awesome functionality.
in fact i would pay for an additional add on. imagine being able to load single cycles of a mood model d and blend them with the crisp hypersaw of the ti
bring it on access!
-
single cycles from a minimoog model D would not capture anything the virus couldn't reproduce itself... other than introducing some noise into the equation...
-
I am all for user wavetables in the Virus as opposed to full blown sampling. I've never bought the upgrade for my blofeld as the mac version seems too buggy, plus it is straight sampling rather than waveforms and wavetables.....I think....and I'm pretty sure Waldorf and Access are the same company....just a feeling
It would be like having your own little PPG. -
...and I'm pretty sure Waldorf and Access are the same company.....
r u serious? -
I have a vague memory of seeing a picture where someone took apart a desktop blofeld and it had access stamped on the board, and when blofeld went bust the designers moved over to access. Also, I find the editing menu system very similar on both of them, as is the polyhpony allocation when certain filters and effects are used, there aren't many synths that give a vague estimation of their polyphony in specifications.Largo and VC look a little similar. there's something going on.....or maybe I'm imagining it
-
and I'm pretty sure Waldorf and Access are the same company
i'm pretty sure we are not
... not the slightest, at least last time i've checked ...
