Virus Ti on WIN 7 Can't install midi and audio drivers in device manager

  • Hi, i think i've passed more time on getting issues fixed than actualy making music with the Virus Ti desktop.... i have it since almost 3 years.
i've just change the studio a little, anyways... this time i really can't figure what is happening and the virus support is kinda slow.

so i thought i can ask here why i can't install midi and audio drivers in device manager for virus TI
j've just upgraded to the lastest OS and theses 2 drivers are not installing but the os installer finish with no errors at all...
the only one that is able to install is "virus ti 2.9.49 in device manager.

i tried with only the virus connected, and keyboard/mouse..... same problem
also tried to changed usb cables
reinstallled the OS 4-5 times and taking care to delete virus related registry, os and every file i can find in the computer related to access

    thanks for the help
i think it's the last time i'm having an issue with the virus, next time i think i will burn it.

  • i can't roll back my windows,.. and this is not a good solution ...
i'm talking with virus support at the same time but yeah i thought i could have some opinions.
it is not only a reinstall problem,

i did this procedure and many other tries with diferent combination too.... :

    in order...

    1- virus connected

2- deleted manualy 3 drivers of virus in device manager

3- turned off, turned on, turned off turned on computer (yes i rebooted 2
times just to be sure there is no virus drivers in device manager)

4- still with virus not connected i desinstalled the OS5 software

5- reboot computer virus not connected

6- install OS5 software with virus not connected

7- it asks to reboot, i click yes

8- while it reboot, i plug the virus usb and power on

9- it then arives with a popup window (just after loging into windows
session with my password) is scans for virus ti, it can’t find virus ti, so it
    aborts and i click finished

10- then i chek in device manager just to see... the same 3 drivers are
showing like the print screen and 2 of them are with exclamation marks

  • Dear Maks Far,

    Dear Maks,
Here's what I recommend to do. Please remove the
current Virus TI software installation from your Windows system and
especially remove the Virus TI drivers manually from your device manager
for all three USB drivers (USB, audio and midi). Next shut down and
restart the PC without the TI Snow being connected. Then run the
installer for 5.0.3 without connecting the TI Snow. This is possible on
Windows 7 and Windows 8. Once this is done again restart the PC. Once it
has booted, connect the TI Snow to it and check if the drivers install
correctly. Eventually update them manually in the device manager by
directing it to the locations of the drivers here:

    C:Program FilesAccess MusicVirus TIUsbdriver

    C:Program FilesAccess MusicVirus TIAudiodriver

    C:Program FilesAccess MusicVirus TIMididriver

    Best wishes,

    Jörg Hüttner

I have the same problem, as the author of the topic. On MAC OS it is
installed and updated without problems. On Windows the first
installation of the version 5.0.2.1 was successful, I enjoyed the virus
without any problems. Further, decided to install a version 5.0.3.0.
During the installation of the latest version of the firmware, the
installer offered me to make changes (optimization) in the system or not
to change anything. I put a checkmark in order to optimize the system,
then a BSOD. After reboot I tried again to install 5.0.3.0, but the
installer to optimize the system no longer asked, he further informed me
that the Installation of OS5 ended prematurely.

After all this I installed a version of 4.5.3.0, which works with my virus well

Question: what changes has the optimization of the system in my Windows 7 and how to cure it?

    Jörg Hüttner,

unfortunately your instructions did not help cope with my problem. Are there any other options?
Virus Ti has made changes to the system, offering to optimize it. I agreed and after this, no options do not help

    Dear Maks,
Just doing the "optimization" of the installation
won't help. You need to manually update the drivers in the "device
manager" of your PC. Just running the installation alone will not help.

    I
attached a PDF which explains how to remove and reinstall an OS. This
PDF also works when updating to a newer one and not just downgrading as
explained. Follow these steps, but use OS 5.0.3. The PDF shows how to
    update the drivers, etc.

    Best wishes,

Thanks for the help, it worked!

    I
couldn't follow your instructions, because windows characterize the
virus ti as a USB composite device, it was not clear that it was he. By
deleting and inserting the USB cord I defined as windows displays a
virus ti in my system, its name was - a USB composite device. It is in
him that I installed the USB driver.

    with best regards, Maks, Russia

Please make sure to repeat the steps outlined in my last email on how to update
the drivers manually in the "device manager".

    - start with the USB
    driver
    - select "update driver" for it in the device
    manager
    - next "browse my computer for driver
    software"
    - then "pick from a list of device drivers on my
    computer"
    - then select "have disk"
    - then
select the file "Virus USB.inf" under c:program filesaccess musicvirus
    tiusbdriver
    ___________________________________

    doesn't work... :S

how did you installed "virus USB.inf" in the "composite usb device" ?
like the method he told me ? or another ?

looks like windows is sticking with the composite device and can,t change it by doing this right click then have disk method....

  • What message give you your system, when you trying install usb driver?

click on "Update driver" and choose folder with USB driver in Access folder

From the begining uninstall all access software, then install again without connect virus ti to PC

  • Is there some drivers cache cleaner method or software, so i can reinstall the virus like if it was the first time ever ?
    without a format.....:S

because... i tried it on my laptop, i never installed it on this laptop before and it worked the first time in less than 5 mins.

  • it's french lol

it says that it can't install the drivers, it finds it but cant install..

the other message (the little one) is telling me like if i was trying to install a 32bit version on my win 64bit, but i was pointing the 64bit drivers...

the actual description in error messages are totaly useless
it tells me to contact suport for the device...and... access keeps telling me to do what im doing for the 40th time and expecting new results...

    i cant't format my windows.
