Virus C (6.5) - Popping sound on chords

  • Hi everyone,

I just bought a used Virus C on Reverb that was listed in Excellent condition. I've noticed that some patches work fine as mono, but if I try to play a three or four note chord there's a digital distortion/short clipping sound at the beginning/attack of the chord. I'd say it's an issue on about a third of the patches. Did a hard reset, upgraded to 6.5, and put in a new battery. Still happening. Is this a DSP issue? Example below:

  • Sounds like the clipping happens as a result of added volume from several notes.

The Virus (TI) is quite capable to run out of headroom and go into digital clipping because of adding up extreme EQ, FX, Filter and Volume settings. What happens if you lower the Patch Volume?
