Virus gets stuck loading at the welcome screen[SOLVED]

what os did you upgrade?
-
4.0.5.0.1
i've just tried the latest beta to but still the same
-
i've just downgraded to 3.3.4.00 and it works as normal.
it seems my virus doesn't like version 4 of the software?
-
just to update:
after downgrading to version 3 i then tried installing the latest beta...
this worked fine. until the ac power is cut. then after powering up again i get stuck at the welcome screen
-
have you tried to disconnect usb cable ?
-
yes. no different.
it seems strange that its just with version 4 of the software.. and it doesn't seem like a widespread problem.
as i said before it only occurs after the ac power has been cut. so maybe not everyone has been in this situation?
-
it can't be hardware bug ....
i suppose there is a buffer which can't reload the program due to some manual setting...
so try default your virus and again upgrade your os without downgrade... -
I agree - it's not hardware.
do you know if the OS updates include a Bios update?
I'm wondering if the Bios is corrupt? or incompatible with OS4. I've have had the Virus over 5 years.
I'm not sure if the Bios has anything to do with the TI startup procedure?
have tried resetting to default. I have tried all sorts. The only thing i've found that has an effect is getting back on to OS3
-
unfortunately ,i don't know how it's possible to default bios version
but it's wired after os upgrade it works but when you switch off it will not work !!
some unexpected problem has seen in recent days ...maybe our device will not work after 5 years...!!! -
yeah, I need to speak to someone who programs the OS and see what they say.
-
good idea ,do it asap
im looking forward what you got the answer... -
Finally sorted!!!
The problem was the battery on the motherboard. which explains why it was OK until i cut the ac power.
My virus works on all Operating Systems up to and including 4.0.2.01. After this it gets stuck at the welcome screen if the AC power is cut.
This is worth taking note of as there is a possibility at some point there will be lots of virus ti's around with dead batteries and they will all be getting stuck at the welcome screen!!
I hope this helps anyone in the future.
