the virus has a fixed amount of RAM banks, the rest are ROM banks. you can read/write sounds to RAM banks and only read sound patches from ROM banks.

Shouldn't there be a burn to ram feature in control center?
you could select the entire bank and drag it over in one go.

There is a burn to flash rom feature in the Virus control centre (which will also burn to the ram banks) No way to do it unless connected to the computer as far as I know.
