Hello everybody.
I have a problems with my Silverstone EC-04 USB3 PCI-e card (TUSB7340 Hostchip) and Access Virus TI2.
Steps I’ve made:
1. Install OS Windows 7 x64 with latest drivers for motherboard chipset (X79), onboard USB3 controller (ASMedia 104x), and latest drivers for TUSB7340
2. Install Virus Software 4.0.3 without connecting Virus to TUSB7340
3. Reboot
4. Connect Virus TI2 to TUSB7340
5. Windows 7 x64 detected a new device and install both Midi and Audio drivers for Virus TI2
6. When I go to the Device Manager I see that Midi driver is not installed correctly, instead of “Virus MIDI Driver” I see “MIDI Device”
7. Starting Cubase 6.5 and see that Virus TI2 not reacting to keystrokes
8. When I manually install MIDI driver for VirusTI2 I have a BSOD
9. After that when starting Cubase 6.5 during MIDI initialization I have a BSOD
10. When Windows 7 x64 starts up and Virus TI2 connected to TUSB7340 I have a BSOD
11. Windows 7 x64 boot up normally only if Virus TI2 disconnected from TUSB7340
I have contacted with Texas Instruments Technical Support and Access Music Support both.
First of all, Access Music Support says that this problem is caused by both Virus TI2 drivers and TUSB7340 drivers – it is evident from the Dumps.
Ок, I have get in touch with TUSB7340 manufacturer (Texas Instruments). Texas Instruments confirmed the presence of such a problem and give me a new fixed driver for TUSB7340. But the situation has not changed. I sent the new Dumps to the manufacturer.
After analysis of new Dumps Texas Instruments Technical Support says that:
«Taking a look to the attached Memory Dumps it’s pointing that the problem is caused by the VirusUSB.sys driver and not by the TI driver. The warning and errors displayed that make reference to the tihub3.sys driver are only because you have not the driver symbols loaded on your system. (those symbols are only for debug purposes)»
Bugcheck Analysis of new Dumps is attached to this post.
Question to Access Music Technical Support:
1. Is it possible to make work fine Virus TI2 and TUSB7340 USB3 Hostchip?
2. Can Access Music fix this problem in the next version of Virus TI2 drivers or I need a new USB controller?
