Under Windows 10/11 the TI, VC, and VST/AU plugins are still running, who knows for how much longer...
You can still use the TI2, albeit possibly with some limitations. (in Windows)
For me: I will generally switch back to the Windows platform since Apple is no longer sustainable for me (except for the iPhone, iPad). Apple's pricing and software policies are more than questionable!
My Mac Pro Tower (€3200) is now over 12 years old and almost useless. Hardware upgrades up to €2000 are a waste of money since the last compatible CPU generation is too weak and some fans cannot be replaced (CPU fans). For around €2500 without tax, I can buy a new PC that far surpasses the performance of a current Mac Pro Tower.
I have a access virus emulator on my pc with the virus b rom on it but I would like to try out the virus a original presets, is there a way to download them?
you need to download: Virus A Series OS 2.80
(as Lioio already mentioned)
You can not import Preset Banks that are in *.mid Format, you have to load the OS
hey, i found them: https://www.virus.info/downloa…g-Systems-(older-versions)
LFO Led Hotfix and older TI OS
that would that one: Ti2 Desktop's LFO LED is weird
That would be something after all these years. But the future looks quite sobering.
Developer Christoph Kemper has confirmed that production ceased several months ago as the company shifts its focus towards the popular Profiler amps under the sister brand Kemper.
Very easy, just pull on it.
Great Synth!
I hope my TI2 stays alive for several more years! With the price of the GS 3rd Wave, I'd have heartbeat palpitations.
That also crossed my mind, but that's a different story.
If there were to be a massive DSP chip die-off, there will surely be someone who sells them for profit on Amazon or eBay, and that's okay.
You will have to look around for a repair shop you trust.
In our modern throwaway society, this will be a difficult, if not extremely problematic, endeavor. As good electricians or technicians are becoming an endangered species.
We are moving in a direction where it becomes indistinguishable from the movie "Idiocracy".
If this source is correct there are more than enough of them: DSPB56367AG150 Price & Stock
and everything that serum offers
edit: ahh i forgot... that it is running under recent mac osx systems!!!
Currently there is only a Windows compatible VST version. it should run in a vmware parallels windows installation and vst host or DAW. I can't judge how good or bad it is.
There are other ways to do this virtually: Windows VST Plug-ins on macOS
Another possibility is a Windows notebook or PC running Viper. e.g. If you have Ableton: Sync with Ableton Link (or any Link-enabled DAW or software), MIDI capable sound interface (preferably USB or Firewire) and feed the audio signal into your Mac.
(MIDI is only necessary if you want to use MIDI from your Mac)
If you don't own a full Ableton license, even an Ableton Lite version that often comes with hardware bundles is sufficient.
For the use of Ableton Link, I recommend using a wired network connection instead of Wi-Fi.
I use old notebooks for a single VST synth.
and feed the audio signal into my mac pro with a RME FireFace 800
Audio Interface of the Notebook is an NI Komplete Audio 6 (MK1)
This means you can use a wide variety of operating systems to keep old hardware alive Without having to do everything with just a single host and virtual installation.
other synthesizers like Sylenth1 have a higher amplitude and/or destination amount parameter in their mod envelopes.
and this makes it possible to get a lot more punch/pressure into the kick
I've been wondering if people have any good methods for achieving more accentuated envelope decays, to get some really punchy sounds.
my way for example:
OSC1 sine -24 semitones (or more OSC´s)
Oscillator Phase Init: 1
Oscillator Punch Intensity: as you like
Amplifier
Patch Volume: 127
Filter Envelope:
Filter Envelope Decay 24
Envelope 3/4
Decay 0
(or very little)
Matrix:
Slot 1:
Filter Envelope - Transpose +24
Slot 2:
Envelope 3 - Transpose +12
Slot 3:
Envelope 4 - Transpose +6
Filter Env Decay +63
Slot 4:
Amp Envelope
Amp Enc Decay +48
(more or less)
another infected one, welcome
the part number mentioned "Alps Skhcac" doesn't seem to be a valid Alps part number.
The Name is "ALBS Skhcac" - ALBS Part-no 800048
