Have you tried the remote mode of your Virus Control?

Is your computer's OS setting the Virus as the default sound card when you turn it on? That would make all the sounds be played through the Virus and prevent you to listen to them through your normal sound card.

That is absurd to me Maxing out the available polyphony would not trigger a note and it has never done it on my Virus. Contact support via e.mail asap.
Also, go out and read a bit about DSP synthesizers with dynamic voice engine. EVERY feature consumes a bit of poly. Not only on the Virus, not only the FX You'll learn something and understand that nobody ripped you off.

Depth = Env Amount
Velocity Sens = Edit -> Velocity Map (2/4 and 3/4) -> Filter 1 Env Amount / Filter 2 Env Amount -

There is one for download on the site, and just use the search engine to find a couple on the forums. I don't really remember if they're online here or on infekted.org, but there's more than one on the internet.

Yes, the demo song doesn't play correctly with the latest update, I already wrote about this in the past. Just a minor issue, though.
The Total Integration works fine for me and many other forum users. If you have those "strange issues" I advice you contact support.

I always use the hypersquare to make those meaty, poser jump-up bass/leads

Have you at least tried to set it up correctly as explained in the setup guide? I'm sure all the other people using the Virus with Live aren't experiencing this "un-usability" or the whole forum would be filled up with the same complaints as it's quite a common setup. The last time I tried the combo (Win 7 x64, Live 8 demo, Virus TI2 4.0.5.01 - to help another user sort out his setup) the usb out worked just fine with the usual low latency. As a user, I'd suggest you check your own setup to see if something's wrong, and if you can't sort it out at all, contact support about it.
p.s. nice "99.9 °C" track.

I still don't understand: when in Edit Single, Velocity Map 1/4 "Volume" is set at 100%, the harder you play a key the louder the amplifier gets - the envelope always stays the same. Of course, the lower the full volume is, the more difficulties you will have in hearing the sound (and thus how the envelope is working) during the quieter segments. This, to me, is the basic "Vel->Amp" behavior in every synthesizer. Do you mean something different?

And the answer is always the same: contact support. When they are sure you have a Virus you can get a copy of your Virus C SoundDiver. They can't make it available for everybody, as it's copyrighted and not available any more from the former maker.

That's really nice to know. One thing that always prevents me from going all Fedora is audio apps and how my hardware would do with it.

The installers installs drivers, Virus Control, Virus Control Center, documentation and tutorials and of course it updates the TI firmware if needed.
If you have installed it, unless you've tampered with the installation process, the Virus Control is already on your computer and ready to be used with a compatible host (Pro Tools) -
You'll be able to use your Virus on both systems - the Installer will see the TIOS is already up-to-date and will only install/update the drivers

Now I just feel stupid having told you "try it for yourself" when I see the thread title says you don't have one yet (but anyway, that's how it works when everything is set up properly)

If you intend to use your Virus as an Audio Interface you need to connect your monitor speakers (or your mixing desk) to its main outputs.
If you want to use your own sound card (audio interface) select the sound card itself from your computer's operating system
