Hi Guys,
I just wanted to know how to save patches I made without having to over write a preset patch, is there a way to do this?
Thanks

just drag and drop the name from the left section to a blank spot in the browse section.
standalone use store button and save it on a ram bank
when you are in virus control ,
1st copy and rename one the virus midi file bank with your name at virus document folder : * before you load the virus vst
2nd click the save button on the left panel on VC and when the sub menu appears find your bank which you have renamed and then select a patch
With the ability to burn flash rom now...just drop it into your "my patches" soundset and then burn it to flash rom.
how's this done burning to flash rom? Your talking about dropping into my patches from within Virus Control right?
It can't be done in standalone I take it? Just stored to Ram?
All the presets in the RAM banks are all repeated in the ROM banks so you don't need to worry about losing sounds - they are also available online as preset banks so you can write them back to your virus should you feel the need to.
To burn to ROM you need to use Virus Control Centre (VCC) which you can find in the start menu (if you are on windows, rtm for mac). You can only burn *.mid patch banks whole, so you need to organise your presets into a bank in Virus Control (VC) first.
"thanks for all the replies guys"
Yes that's confused me! I assumed you could burn to flash rom individual patches. But it appears not

that's what the RAM is for.
