Hello there, new owner of virus TI2 desktop.
I am wondering if I can control the virus with a basic midi keyboard through usb instead of midi. There is a whole whack of little usb keyboards out right now, and I would love to be able to just sit on my bed and make patches with a tiny keyboard and the virus desktop.
The questions/problems are:
1. Can you use the usb port on the virus strictly as an input for receiving midi notes or midi control data ? (ie. no virus control, and using analog outputs for audio)
and if so....
2. Can it power the midi keyboards that are powered through the usb port ? This would be really important in allowing this to be a fully portable setup...
3. Since the Virus and the midi keyboards both use the "B" end of a usb cable, would I have to get an adaptor like this: http://www.amazon.com/USB-Type…ale-Adapter/dp/B000AA2SMS ?
