Checking voice use

  • Hello.

Is there a way of checking how many voices are being used by any one part? I have a project currently using 5 parts and there is cutting out, voice stealing etcbut I have no unison or reverb at all, so was hoping to be able to work out which parts are using all the power and why.

    Thank you.

  • For each Program, there's a "battery meter" showing how many DSP resources is consuming. For start, try disabling effects on the more complex Programs to get more polyphony.

Access Virus TI2 Polar Darkstar, Korg Kronos 88, Roland MB-8800

  • The battery meter tells you, relatively, how much a single voice 'costs' in terms of polyphony hit, but it does nothing to tell you how many voices are actually playing at any given time. AFAIK, there is no way to tell how many voices are being used.

  • So now the case is that I found a few offending patches, took all effects, unison, matrix and all other expensive stuff off inc hypersawa and the patches are still showing that they are using a full battery worth of Virus power. How does this make sense?
