USB + MIDI - Possible?

  • Hello, mates!

I'm wonder can I connect my TI through midi and analog outputs, but still use VST control plugin?

If I just route the signal to the analog outputs from the VST control plugin the midi data still going through VST anyway and I've got huge delay. Virus midi in/out does not work if virus is connected through usb.

Every time than I need to record audio from my virus I need to disconnect USB.

So, can I make virus midi work than it's connected through usb?

    Thanks!

P.S. Sorry for awful english :))

  • Once the Virus is connected through USB it's MIDI in and out ports belong to the computer, as soundcard ports, but when VC is not running, you also have a MIDI port into the synth engine, called "Virus MIDI synth", through which you can send MIDI tracks, and get the output from each channel's configured output.
Regarding the delay issue, check your DAW's delay compensation settings. If delay compensation is not used, analog outs should be always on time no matter what. If delay compensation is used, the analog outputs tend to be too early, rather then delayed.
