I'm trying to create a bassline sound just like this one...
I'm talking about the bass sounds starting at 0:39.
Any tips or advice how to create such sounds?
Thanks!

are you on about the bassline that hits at the same time as the kick drum, to making a hard kick drum sound??
I can't listen to the clip atm but if you're talking about the kickdrum itself used in that track then I'd suggest using something else as a source sound instead of a Virus synth. a 909 From D16's Drumazon would be a great choice as example.
No I am not refering to the kickdrum sound.
I'm talking about the bass/screech sound during the mid intro.
I think the maker of this track played a nice trick on our ears. The screech is low, but it does not have presence in the bass range. The ring of the kick is instead tuned to match the pitch of the screech which glues them together in our minds...
In any case a good start for the screech would be a square wave, and a very fast LFO modulating oscillator volume.
Hope this helps.
Thanks again Flabberbob!
I was able to create a sreech almost the same

That's sound very good!
Can you show how you made it by making some pictures of the Virus?
I can't give you the exact settings because I will use this sound in some new tracks of mine.
But I can give you the basic settings to help you get started.
Turn the OSC balance to +82%
Unison mode to twin
Pan spread 100%
Use for OSC 1 a SAW
Use for OSC 2 the Formant Simple setting and try the different formants.
Also turn down the semitones of OSC 2 to -24.
The key for getting the crunchiness in the sound is setting the saturation to DIGITAL and turning the filter balance all the way to filter 1.
Close the filter and you will start to hear the crunch.
The EQ settings are:
6724hz +16 db
1046hz +5 db with a Q of 15.4
Also try experimenting with the other settings to get your own unique sound.
Hope this helps!
Thnx for the reply man!
