Multimode CPU conservation

  • Im running my Virus TI desktop in multi mode via ableton, without utilizing VC or abletons external instrument. But I do have a midi keyboard routed via ableton into my virus so i can write midi sequences of my patches. I pretty quickly ran into cpu issues and started having goofy stuff go on, so i bounced my midi sequences to audio tracks and deactivated the midi tracks, so they shouldnt be sending info to the virus anymore. I want to keep those midi tracks around, in case i want to go back and edit them or the associated patch, so will simply bouncing to audio and deactivating that track save on my viruses cpu?

in other words, if a patch in multi mode is not receiving midi information, does it still consume cpu?

    Thank you.

  • I'm pretty sure it doesn't.
