Virus C & cubase x64

  • Hi to all !
    i've a problem:
At the moment i'm using Cubase 5, but i'm looking to buy Cubase Elements 9 (x64)
i'm tryng the trial version first, but i've a trouble.
i need to control my Virus C like an instruments but in the list of midi devices i find only Virus A & Vius KB
on Cubase 5 i'm using a .xml free file found on internet, i'ts patch + control panel, but when i load it on Cubase 9 Elements, i cant open the panel and control it like an instrument.
where i can find a .xml file for Virus C to load in x64 cubase version ?

    thanks in advance

    Erik

  • IMHO Steinberg really dropped the ball on those Midi Devices. Over the years, they should have come forward with an extensive (user) library for all sorts of devices.

If I were going to use any Virus before TI, I'd give this neat plugin a test spin:

Mystery Islands Access Virus|HC AudioUnit & VSTi Librarian Editor Plug-in

    Bass Player and Synthesist.
    Virus TI2 Darkstar | Virus TI2 Desktop | Sub 37 | Voyager RME | Machinedrum | Analog Four | Digitone | MPC Live | NI Maschine+
    Mac OS 13.6.6 (Ventura) | Cubase Pro 13.0 | Ableton Live 9.6 | Logic 10.8 | MainStage 3.6 | NI Komplete Ultimate 14 | RME Fireface UFX+

  • a bit expensive for a plugin....
on internet i've found a lot of .xml files for controlling Virus C like an instrument.
i load it on Midi peripherics panel, and is all ok...
but when i make an instrument channel i cant find it in the instruments list like Cubase 5...
i think is because Cubase 9 is 64 bit and Cubase 5 32 bit...dont know
i've found on internet a software named "MidiQuestPro" that create a .dll file for a lot of old hardware synths of the past.
i prefer spend money to buy this software than "Mystery Islands Access Virus|HC AudioUnit & VSTi Librarian Editor Plug-in"
but first to spend money for this software i wait, and hope, from an answer from a forum user to solve this problem.
i think a lot of people have, & use, the Virus C on 64bit Cubase, i need only a solution...
i dont want to sell my C or spending money for a mono-use software...

    waiting an angel... :P
    thanks to all

    Cheers

50€ to get TI capabilities for an old Virus is not expensive, IMO.

MidiQuest pro is much more expensive (at least last time I checked) but if it covers lots of other synths you own, that might be your best option.
