After playing the Ti 61 for about 15 mins the filter will randomly open up (to 80 from 35 on one patch). It happens on multiple presets without having made any changes to them.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Does it happen on all patches? Does it occur in stand alone and/or USB mode!? Any MIDI inputs or pedals connected? Did you try single and multimode? Are you running the latest firmware?

Is the Mod Wheel routed to control the Filter via Mod Matrix?
Some Virus TI models seem to have problem with their Mod Wheel firing events out of the blue.

I had similar with pitch bend and it turned out my controller keyboard had a dodgy pitch/mod joystick. I'd certainly look at the mod wheel here and see if it's faulty.
