Hello
I used in the past the Groovebox 303 from memory it is not (original) all midi. For the TI, unfortunately you will discover that in MULTI or SEQ mode above 5 tracks, if you play with chords here and there it does what you describe. You can use MULTI a little to overcome it: choose "HIGTH" and not "LOW" (= SHIFT+EDIT\ Priority)

And yes, we are all waiting for a new Virus, with a catch-up to achieve what you describe... let's dream

Try your Pattch in MULTI MODE:
Go in page EDIT (SHIFT+EDIT)
Go in Priority
Choise: "HIGH" (no LOW)
And, now?

I prepare the TI in oilpainting...

An idea: use this box which allows you to split a keyboard =

What if you plug in an EXT keyboard?
This would drive the vocoder in channel 2 (OUT of the keyboard in the IN of the Virus + THRUE of the virus in the IN of the vocoder). On the Virus keyboard, you play the SPLIT (all in channel 1) As a result, only channel 2 comes out of the THRUE (thus, the midi data from channel 1 will not pass) -
Hi,
What I would do (but it requires juggling between 2 parts) = MULTI Mode / Tracks 02,03,04,05 all on channel 2 / separation of note ranges (Low Key / Hight Key: C0#/C1 + C1#/C2 + C2#/C3 + C3#/C4 ) and track 01 on channel 1 (C5/C6) for the vocoder. On the other hand, you will have to manually select which Track you want to be on (either 01 or 02). The vocoder in channel 1.

Yes, precisely, I prepared this test and registered it for you. Complex in the sense that they are reversed, it's confusing, but in the long run you get used to it.

If I understand; all the tracks are only for the sounds of the IT and the notes must not send in midi, except ONE track: you need a second keyboard for the EXT vocoder. It is connected to the midi IN in the TI and from the TI the midi THRUE to the IN of the second keyboard
For TI: CONFIG/Knob Behavior/ Target: "Internal" - CONFIG/ "MIDI 1/3" Soft Thru: "on"
Second idea: impose on the TI its noon in personal ID. But, I'm not sure, because the EXT vocoder must also have the possibility to choose / modify its ID (as does the TI):
TI = CONFIG/ "MIDI 1/3" MIDI Device ID: "your choise" (not "omni")
VOC EXT = idem: ID same as TI

Envelopes 3 and 4 are quite complex to use. Try this: rate: -64 Attack:20 Decay 100 Release 127 Sustain 100%
-
1 - DISTORTION
2 - EDIT/ go to "Type Hard" (with VALUE 1)
3 - Now, you have in VALUE 2: "Mix"
0% ? or 100% you have ?

Yes it's possible. Even calling patches via Program Change. The TI responds to CC and SysEx messages. In your case, they will recognize each other by the choice of upstream channel (channel 1 for patch 1, channel 2 for patch 2…) -
