If those are the ones your TI2 is using then I'd buy two. Some TI2 apparently also use the 56321, so best to check before buying. If you have the skills to replace them then it's worth having them as spare parts, in my opinion. The only other "have seen breaking" parts in there are the RAM and the Flash but if the latter goes then you're out of luck anyway. For the RAM there'll be spare parts also in the future.

In that case, I misunderstood what you tried to say. Restoring factory settings with a working power supply should work then.
-
It's most likely the power supply having gone bad, try a replacement. Any power supply with 12V DC, 1A and the positive lead on the pin shall work.
See https://www.thomann.de/gb/access_power_supply_al1012_e.htm for an example of what you can buy, if you just want to buy one. https://www.fruugo.de/12v-myvo…ynth/p-52455439-106000178 should also work.
> Now all the sounds are completely different and we don't see the original sounds and we have all our songs written to them.
I hope you have backups of the presets you used because they're gone now.

Yeah, see https://docs.mysteryislands-mu…virus-editor-user-manual/ and https://docs.mysteryislands-mu…b-audio-with-every-macos/
Works well enough from what I hear, you'll find more discussions on this forum and others. It's sad that access music isn't doing anything but for Mac OS, the mystery islands editor is the best option and proves that full TI DAW integration is still possible.

Just make sure your friend doesn't blame you for it being broken and that he's okay with you attempting the repair. If you break it further, it may harm the friendship.
-
Did your friend also experience the same behavior?
Either way, it sounds to me like one of the connectors on the flex ribbon cable isn't making proper contact anymore. Maybe open the unit up together with the friend and re-seat the flex ribbon cable going to the controls PCB? Only if you two feel up to the job, of course. From my point of view it should be an easy fix if you have enough electronics experience. If not then it's possible to break things as the ribbon cables are unfortunately fragile.
Here's a post from the past with a very similar issue that confirms my suspicion: Access Virus TI Keyboard, Buttons with strange behaviour.

> I noticed on my unit when I play the demo song and leave it playing, often times I get the same issue, a loud constant beep…
Unfortunately, the demo song is broken on TI2 (works fine on TI1), it's not a reliable indicator whether the unit is broken or not. When I play the demo song one of the DSPs hangs after a minute or two while the other DSP still continues to play. The same issue appears when using the audition feature. However, it works flawlessly otherwise.
Edit: That said, did you try using the panic key combo to cancel all notes when it hangs?

My inquiries regarding potential linux support weren't answered either. That's quite unfortunate.

biochill, can you also share the .csv? I'd like to have the presets ordered in vertical columns instead of horizontal ones.
-
Before you replace the DSP entirely, can you simply reheat the BGA solder balls with a hot air gun? I wonder if it could be a bad solder joint and temperature plays a role. If that is what it is, no new DSP is required to fix the problem.

You can unplug the Virus TI power supply, then hold TAP and CONFIG while plugging it back in. You'll then see the serial number.
