For windows you shouldnt use that version any more, you should use 3.3.5.02 where such problems have been fixed.

It's doing this to me with the latest 4.5.3 full version so if it was fixed it's broken again.

Getting this issue as well wondering how everybody solved their problem with install failure.

transferpoint: this is a very old thread, I think you'd better start a new one (or reply to a newer thread with the same subject) - where you should also specify what version are you trying to install, what was the previous version installed if there was any, whether you tried to uninstall in between or installed one over the other and don't forget to specify what error messages you are getting.
In general, most errors of this kind are due to driver files that are not deleted correctly. Even if you didn't have the Virus installed before, just connecting the USB before the installation procedure can cause Windows to install the wrong drivers. The solution is usually to remove those files manually either by using the device manager or rolling back to a known working configuration before the Virus was introduced.
Good luck!
