Seems to be a long time since the beta was released, where is the final version?

OK so you mean it can't do that then.

What I mean is do things like select all the pads in a bank and then assign a 'pad' category. At the moment there is no easy way to assign categories. I'm not interested in editing single patches - I can do that already using the control plugin or hardware - I'm more interested in preset management.
-
I'll ask again, what are the capabilities of this as a preset manager and librarian? Can it edit things like categories, particularly editing of multiple patches at once? Can it split up and reorganise banks?
-
Personally I'm less interested in a patch editor as I prefer to use the hardware and the Virus Control plugin is fine for that already. What is needed is a better preset manager and librarian, the library features of Control are its weakest element, particularly when it comes to organising and categorising patches. If this can do that better I wouldn't care about latency etc as I would just use it as a preset librarian and manager. But I never got my original questions answered, which is not a good sign.

Pity neither of those devices (which aren't cheap) has Thunderbolt pass-thru.

I bought this one a while ago and having no problems with it:

MTT, powered, 7 USB2 ports, compact; good price too

does the problem persist if you lower the volume of the patch? i think it just clicks because it is to loud due to the maximum resonance. also, i don't understand why you need special patch to uncover a SPDIF related problem. if you use a pure sine wave on a low volume, you would hear much more, in case there is something to hear.
marcYes, it has nothing to do with the volume because I do not get it at the same volume when the Ti is master, or with the same setup using the analog outs.

Still could do with some browsing arrows in the main control view too

This seems to be reporting the same issue:
(ignore the last post in that thread as it's not relevant)

Hi I just got a RME UC and tried connecting my Ti Desktop through the SPDIF but I get clicks under some conditions so had to switch to analog ins. I brought this up at KvR and other users confirmed they also have this problem (and with different interfaces) - here is a test case I can replicate:
QuoteSelect INIT patch, OSC balance to OSC 1 , Filter 1 to HP now play a high pitch note: say C7 ... turn the resonance up say to 127, and you can 'tune' in the cutoff to hear the clicking (around 80) if you play a different note, you can tune it using the cutoff/resonance
This seems to happen when the Ti is slaved to the RME, if I make it master and set the RME to slave the clicks go away but that negates the whole point of using the RME as master as it also sets the midi clock for everything else on my system and without that the Ti is out of sync. One reason I went for RME is its strong reputation for this sort of thing.

Yes in particular we need the ability to edit categories in the browser - the current method is too laborious.

Everytime I load up that sickly washed out beige thing I wonder why it was imposed on us when the original red and black skin was a much better fit with my desktop Ti's aesthetic. Please change it back.

Can this manage things like category assignments?
I'd like to know this before the pre order expires

Thanks - that isn't very informative is it? If it makes no difference why is it available?
-
I don't see how putting anything in a multi is going to help. What is needed is for the browser in control to be usable for preset management including categorisation, not just loading.

Doesn't even seem to be mentioned in the changelog or manual addendum. I can't find a single thing about this new driver option. Does it overcome the 16 bit limit in the older drivers perhaps? If so I can't see any additional options to change to 24bit or higher.
-
I don't know when this happened but I've noticed there are now 2 Virus Ti audio driver options on my system (seems to be since the last update for Mavericks compatibility) - Core audio and a new "Bit accurate" option. What are the differences between them and which should I use?

Why is VST3 better?
