I'm running TRS cables from my Virus TI 2 Polar / Dark Star analog outputs directly to a pair of studio monitors (for reasons, of course). The headphone output is pristine, but Out1 L+R filled with fuzz/noise/static. For debugging purposes, I set the Surround output of my patch to Out2 L+R. Out2 doesn't seem to have the same issue as Out1, as it sounds pristine at any level. Is this expected?
Analog Out 1/2 has severe noise/fuzz, other outputs working fine.

On my Supernova 2, the DACs on the main outputs developed noise. They are different devices to the DACs on the other outputs, since they have a volume input.
Maybe it's similar on Virus?
Could be one of the DACs causing your fault, or could be further downstream.

I have this issue as well on my Virus TI Keyboard. It's Output 1 Right that is affected currently. Did you get any answers?

Check the menu entries for
INPUTS 1/2 - BOOST
and
INPUTS 1/2 - Input Thru
in the CONFIG menu of your TI and make sure these are at 0 respectively "off". High levels for the Input Boost can raise the signal-to-noise floor.

I'm fairly sure they're off, but I will check. It's only on one channel, rather than one pair of outputs which is what I'd expect if I'd done that. it's breaking up crackling, not a consistent noise

Well, still waiting to find out what might cause this (or more importantly, what might fix it) - it's definitely not a configuration issue, it's a faulty output.
