if on windows device manger show unrecognized device then remove os.run msconfig on windows run and then select startup tap and deselect all check box
power off your virus remove all cables ,except power plug.
press arp-on button for 10 seconds. push up the button.
plug usb cable ,install latest virus os.

it's better to install only necessary driver for your mainboard!!!

it was an issue before.
it's work for me on usb3 all buffer size except 128 buffer size,
i'm using h57 asus series mainboard with nec usb 3.0 chipset.

when you're using live or logic you can play midi note by your daw.
then you have to record virus audio to mc-909 as usual

but from your first post .it does mean you want use mc-909 as your midi sequencer. so follow the joshl post ,
press patch/sample button on your mc-909 then you see all parts there is a column(seq) which you can change part 1-13 seq mode from INT to EXT.
connect mc midi out to virus midi in then press multimode button on your virus ...
write some note on your mc parts 1 to 13 then you will hear voice from your virus...

ok sound good you get signal from virus
now,
mc just has one analog input it means all your virus part will play from virus ti out 1/2 and should be connect to a stereo input
so you didn't mention what is your daw or do you want to use mc as your sequencer??!!!(please tell me what is yours)****
anyway when you play virus, all 16 part will out from virus 1/2 output so now you have output signal which means you connect your output any recorder or your mc!!!!

VU BAR(METER) it's placed on sample menu on input setting where you select input like microphone!!!!

so tell me what is your sequencer and where your mid is playing!!!!

1-if you're using virus standalone first of all you have to config your parts output. (For now connect your main out or headphone out of virus to your mc input).just for test
2-it doesn't need select microphone on mc ,select line input.
3-turn on mix-in and then go to mc sample menu then look at vu bar!!!
4-also turn half away your input mc knob.

usually virus output to mc input!!! and select mix-in button on your mc-909
change the input setting from mc-909 sample section
if you want to use mc as your sequencer you have to change midi out to ext on your mc mixer

if your are in windows 7 try use performance mode on power option and disable usb suspend setting then select best performance mode on control panel system.
deselect unnecessary program on windows start up and use a light anti virus.

and also read sound programing pdf book which is included on virus software suite.
take a cup of coffee and play with osc and other section.
good start with initial patch with 1 osc and one filter and try to improve it..

yes.you have to register first on http://www.access-music.de and then login on main page,
then download the latest os 4.5.3.00

first download virus software suite and install it
then load virus control on vst instrument panel.[F11]

Try fresh installed windows 7 os and disable other feature on your bios setup like Bluetooth,internal sound card.then disconnect extra usb stuff and then try install new os!!!
also run memory diagnostic on windows 7 and check your ram.

1-Copy and rename one of your midi bank make them initial and then if your are in VC just drag your patch form your mixer part to your own bank.
or
2-if you want to have your patches(bank midi file) into your virus rom banks use Virus control center!!! is easiest way then run it and select your source bank file and destination bank then burn it.
