Resetting the TI and updating to the latest OS didn't solve this.

I would recommend to take the unit off power over night and if it is a TI Desktop, also take the power supply out of the power socket and let the unit sit like this over night.
The next day, reset the unit and see if this already fixed it. If not, send me an email to

FKME!,
This Just happened to mine!! !!
I am seething right now... I just bought this in May and it's been more about tweaking and issues than about making music!
I'm going to let it sit overnight and see what is going on but it's just so disheartening.

Simply follow the instructions I gave above and check if this helps with your unit. There's no need to freak out at this point.

it happened to me also once a few years ago (ti polar)
just unplugged the power cord , put it back after 5 seconds and everything solved

lol... the reason I freaked out was because I thought the solution given was BS... Just unplug it?
Well, I plugged it back in just now and the display is back to normal...So much for believing the solution...
Thanx Jörg!

when you see that weird pattern on the display, the display controller is in an undefined state. by removing power (and waiting for a while) the chip gets back to a defined state (aka starts working again, hooray!).

A few years down the line and my Virus TI keeps doing the "garbled display" routine. It's manageable if I don't forget to take the power plug out of the socket. When I keep it plugged in, this display is unreadable. Sometimes it helps to switch to a different power socket, sometimes it doesnt help. Does this mean the Virus Ti has a hardware defect?
No response at all? I'm getting sick of this problem. How can I fix this for good?

Sometimes this happens when you reply an old thread, even if you're the one who started it...

Probably, I think you should contact Access support directly.
