This is awesome, thanks Marc. I watched the PWM video this morning and just about everything mentioned was very informative. Who knew you could so so much with a PWM OSC? I look VERY forward to future videos. Keep up the great work!

I too found that the copies of the videos on the Virus web site would not play in Firefox. But the copies of the videos on Vimeo that are linked to from the Boot Camp page worked fine.
If you want to save streaming videos such as these to files for repeated viewing off-line, just search the web for "video downloader". There are several free or cheap utilities for doing it. For example, to save the Boot Camp videos that are on Vimeo, I used the free program Vimeo Video Downloader.

I used the free program Vimeo Video Downloader
Having said that, the .mov files for which Ace17 provided the links
http://www.virus.info/_files/VTI_bootcamp_ep1_pwm.mov

are higher quality (and bigger files) than the .flv files that can be downloaded by the free edition of Vimeo Video Downloader, though it looks like the pay edition of Vimeo Video Downloader, which I have not tried, has options to download higher quality files where Vimeo has a choice available. There's any number of ways of saving those .mov files to your computer. For example, if you are using Firefox, you can paste the link into Firefox's address bar and then, once the video starts playing within the browser, use Firefox's Download Helper add-on to save the file. Once Access Music's webmaster has fixed the Boot Camp page so that the clicking a direct link to one of these files on the page actually works to play the video, you won't have to paste the link to the file into Firefox's address bar.Simon

The videos do play in Firefox just fine on my end. They do take quite some time to load however. Try and be patient and you will see, it will play.... eventually.

I mustn't be patient enough - I'm enjoying the Bootcamp series but I haven't been able to watch one of them directly from the Access site yet.

This summer, the Virus TI programmer's Boot Camp opens it's doors and you're invited! Every week, we'll give you another tutorial video accompanied by corresponding patches for the Virus TI. Click here to open the Boot Camp micro site.
for how long ?. I mean they are too short
. I expect at least 200 episodes to be satisfied
only for every matrix parameter to be explained in detail takes at least 50 to 60's episodes .Long live the series

I find Bootcamp tutorials extremely instructive and inspiring! Although I would be glad to have 200 episodes, reading your posts make me think you're looking for reasons to be disappointed!
1) Most of the Virus parameters are self explanatory, and have names common to nearly all virtual analogue synthesizers ...
2) You have a right to experiment by yourself with your Virus, sound design is all about tweaking and hearing...
3) You also have a right to watch other sound design tutorial videos on youtube. Vanguard, Massive, Sylenth, Synth1, etc : most of what's explained also applies to the Virus (Ok, not FM7 nor Sytrus)

Do you expect longer videos & 200 episodes for free? You should be grateful that we are getting anything at all, I don't know ant other manufacturer who would give you as much as you get from Access for free.
Stop moaning, learn more about how your synths work, be happy.

loving the series so far

This is awesome. There's some nice stuff here so far, I really appreciate these videos. I agree with the other posters that it would be good to make these available for download somewhere - I can see myself going back to these later on, and I'm sure future users would find this as useful as myself. The Virus is a lot of synth, and it's nice to get this kind of insight in programming it.
